Correction on the price. The guy put the wrong amount on my instant rebate. I got another 10 bucks offs. Just drove the truck home...city driving. Good God, it felt like I was driving a Cadillac. Taking it on the highway in a while to go to work....will let you know how that goes. I am liking them a lot so far. Only thing is that when they took my old wheel weights off, I have a couple little chips of paint off the rims....guess I will get some touch up paint for that.

Rugged Trails are truly crap, and you'll realize that once you have something else for comparison.

I went with BFG KO2's and I absolutely love them. Lots of chatter here about rougher ride/mpg with heavier LT tire, but it is basically not even noticeable. Rides great, looks great, wears great, and performs impressively offroad. Tested them in a snow storm right after getting them and they were incredible. I've had them 8most now and still look new.

Even worse are BFG's Rugged Terrain TAs. They don't even make them anymore, and I'm stuck with my set until I wear them out!

But, I would buy BFG KO's in a second!

I LOVE my AT IIs. Here is a picture next to a new one when I replaced them at 50,000 miles when I purchased new wheels:

    They were 265/65r17s.

    I’m 99% sure they are p rated.

Edit: They are. This is the less aggressive pattern

The new Defenders ran great on the highway. Do you guys always get an alignment every time that you get new tires? or, do you wait until you replace some front end parts. Seems like years ago, we weren't crazy about alignments. Now everytime, that I take my wife's Honda in, they attach something to the wheels to check the alignment right away.....seems like a scam. She had 10000 miles on her Civic and the guy said it needed an alignment!

Don’t run Michelin on my Tacoma but they’ve been great on my other vehicles.

Yes, done, move directly forward, pass go, all that crap. What you described is perfect for the defenders. Worth the money

I threw some Cooper Discoverer RTX on my 2wd Taco from NTB with a buy 3, get one for a buck deal. Great highway tire with some depth in case you need to get off the road a bit

I just ordered a set of P265/70/R17 Cooper Discoverer AT3s from tirecrawler.com for $135.99 each ($543 total w/ free FedEx shipping. They're offering free shipping on Cooper tires and you still get Cooper's current $70 mail-in rebate thru 10/31/2017.

hands down michelin defender (aka MS2).... absolute best street tire you can buy. Absolute best wet / ice / light snow traction you can get from an all season tire. also dont buy from the dealer.

that stated i wanted a lil more agressive look and went with the LT265/75R16 in a load range C of the Cooper AT3.... but kind of regretting it.... extra weight of the tire definitely hit my mpgs.... even compared to the hankook dynapro atm RT10's in the same size i had on previously.
