    THE APRON:

I've said it before and I'll say it again...

These roughly $5 sheets of blue vinyl with white shoelace-style strings are probably the best investment we've made in the kitchen, and they were my idea!

Below is a picture of me from last March, wearing one of the blue aprons while juicing limes in preparation for St. Patrick's Day...

The apron worn by the lovely lady in the photo below (which I found online) is pretty much identical to the aprons we have:

So, I've dealt with all sorts of disgusting things working at a bar and do all sorts of less-than-pleasant tasks. Juicing citrus and washing dishes are the only times you'll see me wearing gloves and an apron...

I wear just the disposable gloves all the time when I'm doing stuff like cleaning bathrooms, taking out particularly gnarly bags of garbage, and handling food...

All the shit I deal with working at a bar, and what job do you think I dread the most...?

Cleaning out the women's room! Especially on Tuesday (we're closed on Mondays) after a busy weekend!

Even some of my female coworkers, and one of the owners of the bar (a woman!) agree with me that women are slobs and the ladies room is a mess compared to men and their restroom...

    Where do I begin?

For starters, the women's room also has more toilet paper and paper towels just tossed on the floor than the men's room!

Then, there are what I simply call the "tampon boxes." These are exactly what the name implies...

The plastic boxes bolted to the inside of the stall next to the toilet so women on their periods won't dispose of their various hygiene products in the toilet and screw up the plumbing. I always put the paper bags in these boxes so all I have to do is take them out and dump them. Sometimes coworkers don't bother to do this, and I'm greeted by a plastic box full of used tampons and maxi-pads. Fortunately, all I typically have to do is just dump these boxes (they're removable) into the garbage. Unfortunately, the contents sometimes get stuck and I have to don a pair of disposable gloves, and coax it out by hand. We're talking used feminine hygiene products, including the occasional bloody tampon!

    :annoyed:

All indications are the frame rots inside out. Coating the outside only hides it for a period of time.

Drunks and bathrooms, never a good combination...

I'm not talking about drunk patrons making one and two outside of the toilet or urinal. Drunks are actually quite good at peeing and pooping where they are supposed to! My biggest grievance is that once they are done taking care of business, it seems like they take a look around the bathroom and think "This bathroom is too nice, too clean. There are also no cameras, for obvious reasons, so they know they probably won't get caught. What can I destroy?"

The most obvious thing is toilet paper and towels being discarded on the floor. This is not a big deal...

Soap dispensers, towel dispensers, toilet paper holders...? All have been ripped partially or completely off the wall...

One of the bartenders reported coming into the men's room to relieve himself on a busy Friday or Saturday night and encountered a drunk guy purposely slamming the toilet seat and the door to the bathroom stall, his only goal being to see what would break first. The plastic toilet seat broke first, literally splintering into several pieces. The stall door has also been ripped of it's hinges...

Drunks broke one of the paper towel dispensers, and I have to wrap the damn thing with duct tape every time I refill to keep them from ripping it apart. So far, this tactic has been working!

As of right now I have about 77,800 miles on my truck, and the truck is immaculate aside from a few dents and dings, and a tear in the seat. It runs and drives great! I just had the A/C recharged in June 2017, for the first time ever, and it blows ICE COLD. The heat works great too. I've had to replace a master cylinder (long story). Other than that, everything has been oil changes and normal wear-and-tear stuff. My truck has been very reliable over the years! My dad and I have done quite a bit of stuff to this truck, including the stereo, wheels, and a few other custom touches...

Just a couple days ago, I brought my truck in to have the frame inspected as per the recall. My frame was inspected, and my truck actually passed the PA safety inspection (it was due at the end of this month so I had it inspected too). My frame was determined to be solid, so it just got sprayed with what my dad calls "Rhino Snot."

How likely is this stuff to actually work? Does my frame have hidden rust that will manifest itself in a few years?

Are my truck's days numbered? I've read that all they do is bang on the frame's weak spots with a hammer, and if the hammer doesn't penetrate the frame, it passes.

And here is my frame when I picked my truck up at the dealer on October 18th...

No idea on the rhino stuff, but living where you live and driving during the winter. You probably have rust and can't see it..

Maybe, if I lived there I would not drive a car or truck I really cared about in the salt. If it's there it's probably on the inside where it can't be seen or sprayed with the rhino stuff

I can't exactly afford another vehicle (especially the costs associated with it). I also did not know about all the frame shit when we bought the truck...

Maybe I should start driving one of my parents' vehicles when it is snowing

When you say car wash is that an auto car wash? Do you just hose it down? Are you sticking the hose into the frame to make sure nothing's in there?

So should I just enjoy the time we (me and the truck) have together?

Both an automated car wash and spraying it with a hose myself...

I can't exactly fit under the truck in my driveway so I spray it best I can...

Well there's still the recall.. The frame might die but you can hopefully get another from Toyota if yours does go
