help with deck plate mode on 08 2.7

    afe pro-dry s filter, LCE headers, painted black steelies,color matched grill surround, URD short shifter, UWS black tool box
    im new to this site and need help getting a lil more power outta my truck im not really mechanically talented but am willing to do just about whatever to get more power. ive heard about the deck plate mod just dont know what it is, could someone please explain to me what it is and how it works and what i need to do to my truck. thanks

    I dont think you can do the Deck plate mod on the newer trucks.

    correct!!

    just remove the secondary air filter,and install a good high flow filter, such as the afe pro dry s. best bang for the buck.

    Can't the deck plate mod let in warm air into the intake and actually cause a loss of H.P.? If this is all about a better sound, then IMPO that is not a wise modification

    the deck plate mod actually works great on the first gen tacomas with the 3.4 motor. dyno proven horses man!!

    On the older trucks, the deck plate faces the front, and is inches from the grill. When In motion, it pulls in ambient temp. air. Every Dyno run I have seen with the deck plate has shown consistant 5 h.p. gains.
