I've had an ARE solid "cap" for about 1.5 years. It's about as water-tight as you can expect and I've not had to do anything special, like adding weather stripping, since it was installed by a local shop to keep water out. It does get nice and dusty back there, but so far I haven't noticed any water. And, while it's lockable, I would only consider it as secure as the amount of time/opportunity someone with bad intentions might have to break into it.

I have the bakflip VP, nice low-profile, looks like a vinyl top but it's a hard tri-fold, I would get it again for sure.

But it leaked terribly! I took off the side rails and silicon'ed everything, now its much better. $5 fix and about an hour of labor. Definitely worth it. If you get one of these make sure to do the silicon seal. Can't speak for the other brands.

And FWIW the clear silicon I got will pretty much come right off if you ever want to remove it.

I just installed an Undercover Elite in textured black. Was going to get a color matched but with black fender flares and other black on the silver OR I went with the black lid. Overnight shipping, good price, extremely easy to install (about 45min.-one hour), perfect fit and very strong.

I've got Leer 550 with remote lock an unlock. Also has key lock too. Raises automatically when unlocked . Also has carpet on bottom side with a light. This is my second Leer top. Will not leak.

I had a factory cover, it was nice but I didn't want it since I use a shell so I sold it. One of the pegs that hold up the 1st leaf while folding it broke during shipping to the buyer (it was very well packed, but must have been crushed or dropped). Then, I saw the same part broken on another factory cover on a newly used truck at the dealer - are they brittle or something?

Mine pegs seem fine after a year and few months. I just cant stand the puddles in the bed after a light rain storm.

My TruXedo Lo Pro has a gap at each corner where the header/tailgate seal sets on the bed. I have a bed mat so nothing gets wet. If I had to do it over again I would of paid 3 or $400 more and bought the Undercover SE or for a couple more hundred dollars... the Undercover Elite. They have a hell of a seal that sits on top of the bed rails.

I bought an Undercover Elite. absolutely no leaks. seems to be very high quality. easy to install. pricey (approx. $860.00) but I received what I paid for. I saw a Lund that was very nice too.

Where does it leak? I haven’t noticed anything. But doesn’t rain here much. I did power wash it but didn’t see much water in there at all.

Either way, for me, it’s mostly just theft deterrent anyway. I keep most of the cargo in these awesome bins to keep them water and dust free.

I get puddles in corners near cab. It comes in through those corners as I can see day light. I do have the rubber plug things that come with the cover. I also get streaks of water down both sides of the bed from cab to tailgate as well. Ive done the second click on cover near tailgate trick but still no luck. Also the tie down cleats in the bed rail are not in the rail so it sites on the bed rail. after having the OEM cover for little over a year id rather get a roll up so I can use all of my bed. The OEM cover is great just can stand the horrible leaking any more.

Just installed the undercover ridgelander! Very happy! It has the built in roof rack slots, locks up tight and no leakage . We have had some weather so it was tested.

I always bought a soft roll. Started because of cost but also easy to roll back and use.

This truck I bought had a hard tri fold and now think I’d go tri hard fold
