Upper body is all I have going for me. I have very weak legs and I'm trying to be able to compete in next years games. Just need to place in the top 30 at sectionals to move on to regionals. I need steroids!

My legs are all I got, maybe if we combine ourselves into one we could be somewhat of a decent competitor :drevil:

Maybe we can convince them to do a two person team competition

Hmmm, just know that OHS are my mortal enemy, as are snatch and clean and jerk, because of the jerk

Those are all legs?! How are we going to win if you can't do the leg part?

Anything that involves overhead, is out of the question. Legs are fine, but I dont have it. I cant get over putting 170 over my head, Its like a wall. :(

I can't snatch that much either. If it involves push press or push jerk, then I can get it up.

    Thanks

I vote NO to the steroids. Just saying...

Question- do you mountain bike any? I know it sounds stupid, but going into high school I was the smallest female athlete and I had the most lower body strength, which I accredited to always being on a bike. Maybe you can work some bike time into your day and build up some additional lower body strength. Just my 2 cents.

Now that sounds like one hell of a plan!

So whats's up with this competition stuff? I have never been to a Crossfit gym and after seeing the prices posted up on here, I won't be able to anytime in the near future.

Crossfit holds what they call the crossfit games. You pretty much have to be a bad ass mo fo to compete. You have to qualify to get in. They have set WODs that everyone has to do. I personally dont know a whole lot about it, but it is the fittest of the fittest competing against eachother in workouts.

I'm going to assume by bike you mean motorcycle because I have one of those!

To add to this it's pretty much the greatest athletes trying to figure out who is the best athlete in the world. Consist of several workouts a day over a few day period. There is no scaling of workouts. Can read more here: Crossfit Games

FYI: It's HOT outside! I love the temp, but gotta stop trying to work out in the heat of the day- or move my workout inside!!

    Time- 22:14

    WOD:
1 mile warmup on bike (not even a tease of a real ride)

    3 sets:
    80 quick turn jump-rope
    30 squats
    30 sit-ups

IMO, better than yesterday, but still a lot of room for improvement. Lost 6+ mins on the "warmup" bike ride (Riding into the wind all but 20% of it => ashamed of that performance!) The heat really got to me today, enough to start removing clothes less than halfway through it. Need to find a nice a/c empty space to workout in. Maybe then I could reach the 4th set! Only been up a little over an hour, but hey- still no Diet Coke!

Any suggestions for tomorrow? (I have a feeling somebody will say blurpees...)

Well, I finally started getting in my wod's again. Took off Saturday, drove to SC sunday and was too tired after training (& lack of sleep) on Monday to do anything. Down here for 3 weeks of training so I'll have to do these on my own.

    Yesterday:
    50 double unders
    2 Cleans (105lb)
    40 double unders
    4 cleans
    30 double unders
    6 cleans
    20 double unders
    8 cleans
    10 double unders
    10 cleans
    ---------------
    16:55

Then today, I did the main cf site's wod.
    500m row
    150 double unders
    50 burpees
    -------------------
    11:39

    x2! My legs are WEAK!!

Be careful of the heat! Dont want rabdo! ;)

    tomorrows wod? hmmmmmm

I forget what equipment you're working with. You can do something like what I did last week. You dont need anything.

    100yard sprint + 5 pushups.

Do this every minute on the minute. Your rest is the time between when you finish and when the next minute starts. Go for 10 minutes. Want to make it harder... make it 10 pushups instead of 5.

Today we started out with 3 rep max Sumo Deadlift High Pull, got 155 but upper butt started hurting. Then.

    2 rounds:
    25 burpees
    50 squats 20kg
    25 over head lunges 20kg
    400m run

    I think I got 16:49 or somthing.

It's only a goal, but I'll see how I do during the Colorado Games in Sept.

Get to pedaling? So helmet, leather jacket and crank the throttle? That's what you meant right?

:woot: take it off, that's the spirit!...er um...be careful of heat stroke
Oh how I miss the weather in the south. :pout:

Here is the my crossfit workout for tomorrow you could try.
    10 rounds for time of:

    10 pushups
    10 walking lunges, each leg
    10 kettlebell swings, 24 kg (16 kg)
    10 weighted situps, 30 lbs (20 lbs)

You can take out the kettlebell swing if you don't have them. Could do it with a dumbbell if you have one of those.

I am going to try the one Chris (NJ) suggested tomorrow, maybe try yours the day after (minus the kettlebell.)

I love the weather down here, it was a long & cold winter this year and I'm so happy it's finally hot! And an added benefit of nearly dying in the heat was getting my stomach some "sun time." Now, if I could just get my brother-in-law to clean the pool, cooling off after working out would be a breeze!

Back to the bike - helmet optional, no gloves or leather - and don't you dare say you forgot how b/c that's impossible!
