    The solenoid is separate from the winch itself on the smittybilts, giving you a few different mounting options. You COULD buy some thick wire (maybe 2 gauge?) and relocate anywhere your heart desires, but the wire is expensive and you need a hydraulic crimped for that thick of wire.

    I have the same demello bumper as you, and have my solenoid mounted over the motor. I can reach in and plug in the controller just fine. Just had to trim a small part of the truck so the solenoid would clear. Don't have any pictures though, sorry.

    So saw some traction boards used on our last outing. Saw two issues. 1. You have a lip to drive up on prior to hitting the traction portion and 2. They would fly out the back. Makes me wonder how these portable tow truck things work. They look really thin and look to have some bite on the ground. 40$ on Amazon
