Thanks! Poor guy has seasonal allergies, but I'm doing everything I can to help him out and build up his immune system.

Yeah they get along pretty well, Chubs tolerates a lot from the little guy ;). They are definately spoiled .

You might try getting some liquid coricidin (SP) and giving him a baby dose to help. Just remember he will metabolize anything you give about 3x faster than us humans so it will go in and basically be done in a few hours if it last that long.

I give my boxers benadryl. That seems to stop the chewing of the feet and the allergies all together. I just give them 1 pill a day for a couple of days and that usually helps them through the worst of the allergy season.

He's on benadryl for now. I'm also giving him Fish Oil for immune support and it's supposed to help with allergy relief/itching. He's been on apple cider vinegar for awhile now and that is supposed to help with all kinds of things. Thanks for the info.
He goes to the vet to get neutered and nose surgery in 2 weeks, I'm going to have them check his ears and see what they say about the allergies if they haven't settled down by then. We've had a lot of wind and rain recently and everything is blooming, it's his 1st spring so I think he just has to get use to it. :)

He had a runny nose, watery eyes and sneezing, but those are gone now. He only really scratches 1st thing in the morning when he wakes up.
Worst thing for him is scratching his ears, they are clean and not infected, but he is making them irritated. I've been using hydrocortizone on them for a couple days, will see if it helps. Thanks :)

There is a product out there called DynaBite which is being advertised all over the radio here. They claim it has alot of fish oil in it and takes about 6 weeks to get into their system....What's wrong with his nose? Are you going to try and straighten it out....I hope it's not a deviated septum! When is surgery and what do they plan to do? Are you seeing a specialist...it is fascinating what the vets and their specializations these days...Tell him rme and his brood said get well soon and don't be afraid....

I was told it will take about a month for the fish oil to really start working, but the boys are loving it ;). I'll look up the dynabite.
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stenotic_nares
Tank has stenotic nares, which means pinched nostrils, it looks like his nose is pinched closed. It's a common condition for brachycephalic (short smoosh faced) dogs. It makes it hard for him to get enough air in through his nose which can cause the heart and lungs to overwork and can also cause the dog to overheat. Our concern is his ability to tolerate the high temps here in NV. Vet checked his nose at 16 weeks and said he might need the surgery and would see how they developed when he goes in for neutering. He does not need to see a specialist, it's a minor surgery and they will do it the same time as the neuter. He goes in on the 21st if I get the week off from work.
He will appreciate the good thoughts :).
    This pic shows it...

But it looks like they have gotten better, so we will see. He doesn't have any of the typical symptoms such as noisy breathing, snoring, snorting...

How about a slurp Tank....LOL. Great hearing that his nose is not major surgery...bless his little heart...(and bless mom for looking out for her baby) If he has the surgery I know it will be ugly but maybe you could post some pics...LOL. My boxer snores likes a mountain lion. Scared me so bad I got out a bed when we first got him armed with a 9mm thinking a wild animal had gotten in the house. I couldn't find the wild animal and when I got back into bed he started again...I figured it out then...I think he laughs at me from time to time...Gotta love'm though.

If Tank has to have the surgery - don't worry I'm sure he'll come out of it better than ever and you know Chubs will take good care of him....by the way is Tank the Alpha Dog in your house? (You need to go back to bed-I blogged Tank at 0700 EST and if not mistaken you are 2 or 3 hours behind me)

Haha, that's so funny about your boxer!
I'm sure Tank will do just fine and Chubby might just let him snuggle a little bit more :).
Yeah I think Tank is a little more 'alpha' than Chubby, he definately is not afraid of Chubs and does boss him around a little bit. If a 15lb dog can take a high value chew out of a 75lb dogs mouth does that mean he is the alpha? Haha.

Oh and I work the grave yard shift, so I'm on here in the middle of the night...Pacific time zone, so 3 hours difference to you.

Sorry to hear that, but glad they are being taken care of.

Tank's seem to be environmental in nature and he is getting better, so I hope I don't have to get him shots or meds. Boston's tend to have allergies, both food and environmental, but we aren't having food issues so that is good. If he gets bad at any point I'll get him tested. About how much is allergy testing?

Here is Chewy and Lacey. Chewy is the darker one, he's my boy(had him since he was 8 weeks, he's 4 now). Lacey is the lighter color one, she's the sweetest dog ever. We rescued her a few years ago, I don't understand how she ended up with a rescue. Both are Golden Retrievers. This was a rare and perfect shot. We actually got it framed and put a caption on the picture "let sleeping dogs lie"
