As many of you know I'm still looking to buy a Tacoma, I have to save a few more months but I still browse the classifieds often. I searched Ebay Motors yesterday and was pleasantly surprised when I came across this truck in CT. $11,000.00 is very low similar trucks are selling for $16,000.00 - $17,000.00. Seeing this truck has made me think Alot, it seems fishy, but if it's not it's a great deal. I'm not a fan of buying a work truck, but it does have low miles and it's not very old. I also am not a fan of how many people mount ladder racks and tool boxes, I hope they are not bolted on. I asked the seller for more pics of flaws on the truck, I hope I get a response. The bumper looks to be pretty dented by the trailer ball, which would bother me quite a bit. The paint is also peeling by the front grille. However, the seats appear to have been covered and the interior seems really clean. I'm still iffy about the deal, but at that price I could pay the truck off in a matter of months. What do you guys think?

    Ebay...................................Something Fishy

    Ya think?

Having said that you should know I've bought such things as bass amps, a boat and other items from Ebay. I'd have to see and drive any vehicle before I'd buy it.

I'd be careful, but it may be a righteous sale. Your 17k is more in line for the Prerunner, SR5, etc.
If you use PayPal you're more protected on the buy, and I've also gotten some pretty good deals on Ebay including two motorcycles- sight unseen.

Jeff, I drove by Charles Toyota in Norwich yesterday. They had a used Impulse Red Pearl regular cab on the lot. I didn't have time to check it out, but it might be worth giving them a call and asking about it. I bought mine there and they've treated me OK so far.

I would say with all the flooding around northeast I would be very carefull to buy used truck. Wait a little for rust to start showing up on flooded trucks

There's a phone number in the ad. Call it, see who answers. That would go a long way to help tell if it's legit or not.

Price seems in line with what you would expect from a private seller for that truck. Single cab, manual windows/door locks, probably has dings scratches more than expected, base wheels/tires. May need brakes or tires.etc...Only good is 30k and 4wd but probably driven hard due to being a work truck and 4-banger. Spend 2-3 grand more and get all power and ext/dble cab. I would look around..example on CL Dallas:
