Freedom, American flags and ISIS blood Morimoto 35w 5500k HID/ LED highs from TRS. RCI expo rack Core Short throw shifter, hypertech speedo recalibrator. Rear seat molle panel. OVT. PnP 2LM. C4 Hybrid Bumper w/ amber BD squadron pods. 33 pizza cutters. T9 radio

High rise mounts might be the ticket with a mid height rack... Trying to think of a way to make mounts that would rotate up or something so the awning is kept down low when stowed and up higher when I deploy it.

    Looks good!

By any chance would it work under a tonneau?

C4 makes a good one, and is a multiple piece bolt-together design so it packs up pretty small in the garage when not in use. And you can fit a mtn bike under a tent, which was a requirement for me.

I’ve seen that posted here before only once..and it was a while ago. It was in the 3rd Gen “what have you done to your 3rd Gen today?” mega post.. can’t remember the posters name but if you try searching in that thread using the term “bed rack” you may be able to find it. Definitely was a one off he had done at a fab shop, I believe somewhere on the east coast.

We have prototype parts for two racks. One is going on a Tacoma, and one on a tundra.

Love the CBI for bomber rigidity and all the attachment points (this is prior to mounting Quickfists for shovel, High Lift, water). Have to say that it's definitely tough to get your arms through the side though. Usually have to take off my watch o_O

I love my kbvoodoo. I've had 3-4 different ones and I'm back to kbvoodoo. Tons of options for bolting stuff to. It's light. And you can easily modify it to clear fiberglass bedsides.

I went with the premium one this time around. Very beefy.

Tell me more about these high rise awning mounts. This is the problem I'm wrestling with right now.

    Not enough...
Gents, I am looking to sell my Leer topper and go with a bed rack for my RTT.

So far, I narrowed it town to CBI, RCI and KB Voodoo. I would like a mid-height rack, so I could park in my garage again. Topper with a roof rack and an RTT on it made my truck 3" too tall to fit into my garage. This takes full height bed racks and cages out of the equation.

CBI wins price-wise. It also looks great. But I am not really thrilled about inability to mount other things on it.
KB Voodoo has a bunch of mounting options, but that cross plate is sitting waaaaay too low, so it will be hard to reach stuff in the bed.
RCI is the most expensive, but looks super versatile and most convenient. And I really like the looks of it.

Would anyone with any of these chime in with personal experiences?

I’ve got an RCI mid height and have been super happy with it. Admittedly I’ve only had the RTT mounted but I’m sure the rotoxpax and traction boards would be super easy to mount up. Reaching into the bed for stuff is no problem and with my CVT I still fit in the garage (stock ‘16 TRD OR suspension, 265/75 tires). Tent is off now for winter months but I wanna say it sat 1-2” above the roof line. Re: Price I’m pretty sure they are doing a feeler for a group buy in that forum section, check it out! They usually do 15-20% off if I remember right. And re: looks I agree, I was split with KB vs RCI and ended up doing RCI because it was in stock at CVT when I got my tent.. I’ve had tons of compliments on it. Fits the trucks lines well and I think it looks great w my Prinsu too.

Really appreciate the feedback! I spent the entire day obsessing about bed racks and this one definitely looks the best. Going to look into the group buy.
