It's probably just under 600 sq ft in size and cheap appliances/fixes. Also pretty dirty from previous tenants. I really like the price and landlord, but it is meant to be used by a seasonal for 6 months to get by. I am literally living in an attic haha.

Lizzy's going to be working part time from home so if we can, we would like a bigger place for an office. We agreed to just stay in this place to save unless a nice house pops up.

This place will be 3bd/2ba with a shop in the back. Yard with a privacy fence and in a good location. It's one of 3 places I picked for possibly buying and just so happens the owner is trying to rent it through the winter to keep it warm. Also dirt cheap so I could potentially move in 5 years if I wanted and not be held back by a house payment.

That's how it has been here. I have visited several places with a high price tag hoping that they would be nice and all are dumps.

Yeah sucks. Hopefully found a place in columbus maybe. Going to look on Monday. Small but if it's nice inside I'll take it for now.

Just saw your about 8 hours away @Blackdawg . Next summer I'll let you know when I head towards you. Looks like some cool areas to explore around the mid point.

I got a job at Tippet Rise as the Audio Engineer. So trying to find a place to live around Columbus/Absorkee/Fishtail. Columbus would be nice as its 30mins from Billings. I thought you were in GF??

    Oh sweet!

The mid point? I know there is a lot of stuff around to explore now. The whole north side of the beartooth range really. Some cool old mining trails just south of me by Nye i want to check out too. Certainly no shortage of mountains to go to now haha not that there was before..

But yeah! Hit me up. Be down for some camping at some point! Need a garage to work on Frank through the winter..

That's how I feel. Why drive 4 hours when I haw so much within 10 minutes. I find I just happen to end up out that way.

Good luck with a shop. I figured someone I worked with would surely have on out here. Nope, no one other than my supervisor. He's cool though so if it comes to that I'll be hitting him up for a place to catch up on maintenance this winter.

dang really? Everyone has shops or garages out here...unless its a rental it seems like. Mostly. Several houses I wish i could have afforded had one big shop and a large heated garage...sometimes a shop garage and barn..or two shops haha one house was 4000sq feet, had an over sized double attached garage plus one of those super tall deep bays for a trailer. Then a big heated shop...then a second garage with covered parking haha was like 340k on 3 acres. Only problem...RIGHT next to the interstate. Was funny though.

I have no doubt in my mind once i have a bit more money I can find a nice house with a nice shop out here. Tons of them.

No doubt. Too many mountains, too little time haha Still i've spent very little time around here or there so be fun to check out some of that area south of Bozeman or Butte. Or the area right on the ID/MT border. So much stuff. Its great to get to stay out here where it's like that.

Don't hold your breath. I'm not in a hurry. I only bought them now because it was too good a deal to pass up.

It'll probably be sometime before next spring when I get around to upgrading the brakes. There is a long list of maintenance items I need to do this winter that will happen before that tho.

    That is my hope.

This last trip reinforced the reason for staying with an MT and It was time to try something other than a KM2. Your experience helped to convince me to give these a shot.

I wonder how accessible Red Lodge is to there... That would be a cool place to live too.

I live in Gillette, but I am from Butte, MT. I also went to school in Bozeman. Every time I go home or visit college friends I cruise right through there. My work also takes me to Billings from time to time.

Well..yeah but you can still mount your freaking wheels before that haha

Oh. Well shit i was in Sheridan all spring.

Red lodge would be nice but 45mins one way to work over a fun twisty highway. But in the winter could be very dangerous, the deer are terrible as it is. So Columbus would be a bit better. Plus Devin thinks she has a better shot at getting a job in Columbus.

Rent in Red Lodge is expensive too..freaking ski town. Been there a lot though and it is a cool town.

Yeah music. Idk really. She wants to work in music still...which limits her options a lot. Also considering going back to school. I think if she get a seasonal job at Tippet she could end up working here too if she wanted.

Probably take anything that pays okay though at this point.

Wtf does he have to do with your truck? He gone man! haha

And you never even hit me up. What. A. Dick. :pout:

We'll have to get together soon either way. Another town to possibly consider would be Park City, but you begin to stretch your daily commute at that point. Billings would just be a stone's throw away though.

Gotcha, we are in a similar position. As of now she has the part time job till may teleworking. After that she is deciding if she wants to get a phD or not. I told her she can live the biologist dream and take random seasonal jobs on the coolest projects in remote areas. We would be separated 6 months at a time but I love my job and I want her to love hers as well.

If I have my way, we will get her in my office as the wildlife biologist in the next few years.
