If we're using an escrow service to pay Sunday Campers, I'm still in. I'll trust @docloco , the Chinese less so :)

Worst case scenario are we able to use a different company like smitty built or auto anything for tents? Prior to this GB i was gunna try and find a autozone employee i know to order one on the cheap with their associate discount.

So is the plan to use an escrow so we don't get ripped off by Sunday Campers?

Not sure what the plan is yet, but I don’t believe for a minute Sunday Campers was at risk for ripping us off.

What makes you so sure? Have you ever dealt with them directly before? It's seems this GB is really no different then buying from Alibaba. And in doing so, it's wise to use an escrow. There's very little we can do if we wire them the money up front and they don't deliver as promised (for reasons nefarious or not). I asked this question before and was told we were using an escrow, but you're leading me to believe that was not the intention all along.

I'm still down for my tents if there is a risk free way to do it. I trust Doc and guitar guy well enough, but I know some will bail if we don't have a way to do it without risk. That's just human nature I'm afraid. And probably rightly so. I don't know the China guys and they're pretty far away for an ass woopin' if they decide to take the money and run. But I want to get the tents, so I'm open to options that people may have.

I'm still in if you can figure something out. ...and there's so such thing as 'risk free'.

No I haven’t dealt with them before, but I haven’t heard of an complaints of them doing so. With that said, at no time did I ever say we were using an escrow. I’ve been up front from the beginning. This GB probably wouldn’t have got this far without my assistance so for you to even suggest that I’ve misled you is uncalled for.

You've done an excellent job, but I wasn't referring to you. I was under the impression the OP was handling the transaction with Sunday Campers. Either way, I'm feeling less thrilled about wiring $40k to a foreign company that basically no one involved has much experience with.

I’m sure with this many people we could find a different manufacture and get a good deal

Because he had a merchant account, and I had a normal peasant account. Also because I think those who did not get the refund, sent me the money before the whole paypal warranty fee happened, so those who originally paid me sent me money as a personal payment.

    That is my guess
