    Loose nut behind the wheel.
Lithium batteries - much better in extreme cold than alkaline. Although I agree, wiring would be better.

What if you're a big guy and a big girl and a kid that will also be tall ( I didn't say fat ;) ) best options for topper and RTT? Is there anything on the market that will hold say 700 pounds?

Awesome. Thanks! If it's not included, no biggie. I was going to run a cable direct from the battery to a switch console in the bed. I could easily add few ports from there.

It's 500 rolling weight, not static. If it were me, I would go with 3 footers per side in tracks and use a Rhino Rack to evenly distribute weight. Then look at one of the Big RTTs made by CVT. Might be a snug fit but the bigger RTTS are roomy. I would stick with SnugTop. But that is just my opinion.

Just pulled the trigger on a 100xr today. Now the waiting begins. Pics when it's installed.

ARE Overland Shell. Windoors with windows, LED lights inside, Dual T Locks.

Think it looks great on the truck and happy with the quality so far!

Got a side pic? Mind my asking what you paid? I'm considering the overland, with similar options that you have on yours.

    Thanks. Looks great!

Yea shells are overpriced for what they are, but I love them. I had a Leer XQ on my 2nd Gen which is Leers top shelf topper.

I thought I found a unicorn today on Craigslist, lightly used quicksand Leer 100R for $1k. It's their base topper but looked good. Turns out it was for a long bed. :annoyed:

That's the thing, by the time I found one it was going to cost me somewhere else. Also I needed the roof rack for my surf boards!

Wish I had that kind of need! Not too much surfing going on in mid west Georgia haha.

So i just ordered the same topper and I was thinking of doing a roof top tent, but they said the weight capacity was 300lbs. Are you worried about that or did you do something to get around it? Thanks!

What did the V-series with dual windoors run you? If you don't mind my asking that is.

Nice. Can you tell me how they wired in the power block and overhead lighting? I’m wondering if they will still work off battery power when the truck is switched off. Thanks.

All of mine works while the truck is switched off, but I also got the installer to add an Off Grid Engineering Side by Side Dual Battery System and told them specifically to make all lights, extra power, etc. on the "House" battery; not sure how they wire it for a normal, single-battery setup.

Seem to have read seems conflicting opinions.

What's the word on removing or leaving the plastic bed rail covers before installing the shell?

I'm planning to pack the front corners with some butyl rubber but curious what are people experiences with installing a Leer with the rail covers on or off? And any thoughts on areas that need friction protection?

I am also wondering the same thing (although on ARE shell). I have a factory Tonneau and am *hoping* to have it sold with rail swap by the time my cap arrives.

If not, is there an issue with using the cut rails? My dealer indicated the rails would stay on

Leave the plastic cover. My installer only removed the Tonneau cover bolts, they use the rails as part of the anchor.

Nice 914, my dad had a 2.0 dark Blue, was so fun to ride in that as a kid with head phones on listening to Seals and Crofts!
