Man, you're right about how flat the M/T torque curve is... it's possible we may see 225 or more if the auto trans is any indication.

If Mat is able to get a full 27-28 deg of advance into the next series of pulls ..:ballchain:

Im already sold on the tune getting rid of the "granny bump" (not sure what else to call it-- the delay in the accelerator). But a torque curve just a little bit higher but flat like that would be icing on the cake. For reference, I dug up the similarly flat, but a bit higher chart on the 4.0L (red) and it kinda makes me miss the ol FJ (but that one had even worse rev hang compared to the new 3.5L). [IMG]

Sure, but only down a large hill with a tail wind or just spinning up a dyno. With a MT and 33” tires.

I wouldn't have expected it could make it that speed in 4th. In my auto and in 4th at 80 it's probably around 5k.

If the low ign timing is a compensation due to IAT being high during the dyno pulls, then there is a good chance we will see full advance in our climate. Unless he had to do a global timing pull. Regardless I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of the MT specific tune. I've been running the 1.02C but it still feels "porty" from an AT. Throttle response and smooth delivery is all I really want. More torque would be nice but that may be a hardware issue.

Yep, and we know the engine has more.. I just don't think Mat was able to maximize power under those conditions.

If you're 04B12, MAYBE HE SHOULD SEND YOU THE FILE FOR EVALUATION!!!

We shall see, meanwhile :goingcrazy: waiting for 1.03 release.

Welp, couldn't take 1.02b on my truck anymore (never got 1.02c).

Back to 1.01b, old reliable, while I wait for 1.03.

On another note, bought the Carista BT dongle and loaded up OBD fusion w/Toyota add-on. Holy crap, the PIDs!

Data is addictive. The number of PIDs to look at in Techstream is mind boggling. I don't even know what 1/2 of them are, but it's still awesome!

I don't think this was asked.

How does this affect taking my truck into Toyota for service and it's warranty?
Can they tell it's been tuned?

This was a no no when I had an Audi it would void your warranty. Many of us waited until after the warranty period to tune.

    1. It has been covered, in depth.

    2. No, it is undetectable by Toyota.

Tell me about it.. OBD fusion identified more than 700 Toyota-specific PIDS!

Why is it hard to find a bone stock truck to do these tests on? I'm a long time lurker and potential buyer but I just can't seem to get to where i'm sold. I'm hearing a lot of "it's great but...". I understand how hard it is for people that just dropped $800 to say it wasnt a great investment. I have no idea if it is or isnt, but for $800 I don't like the "buts".

    How's this...

My truck is not even close to stock with full armor, 35s, bed rack and RTT, and when I am headed to the great outdoors I am carrying an additional 200 pounds of gear and the truck pulls as hard as it did stock with 1.02c and the mpgs are better with all the weight than it was bone stock. I can tell a massive difference between the stock tune and 1.02c. I am completely happy with my purchase and can only imagine how much better 1.03 will be.

Does it give you Injector Duty Cycle and VVT status? Are you using the iOS or Android version? I can't seem to find IDC or anything to do with VVT on Torque Pro.

We are still early adopters here, he isn't even done yet with this. Arguably we haven't seen an actual time for the manual truck in the wild yet. What we have with 1.02c is just a port. Hang tight if you want to see what this will really do.
