BFG lists the recommended wheel width as 7-8'' wide.

    Shouldn't have a problem.

Id be more concered about the offset of those wheels and rubbing. What are 3rd gen wheel specs?? Similar to 2nd gen?

I heard there would be rubbing at full lock but I'm not sure. I was planning on running wheel spacers, eventually. Let me see if I can find offset info.

I'm running no lift on the stock 1998 PreRunner suspension. Original truck's tire were P275/75/R15 before I replaced them with P235/75/R15 (big mistake, those tires ugly af) so P265/75 ratio is fine.

Well depending on the tire you could rub the frame at full lock but also the UCA.

I've seen people run the stock 3rd gen off-road tire/wheel setup (Goodyear Wrangler Adventure w Kevlar, 265/70/16) on the 1st gens with no rubbing - what I'm concerned about is the '75' aspect ratio of the tire instead of the '70' of the stock 3rd gen tires.

Well that means they are taller.

According to BFG its 1.1'' taller and .2'' narrower.

So you will likely need to do some trimming to the pinch weld area. But not much. Not as much as a 33 anyways.

Shit... really wanted to avoid trimming. Would this be avoided with the wheel spacers or do I need a lift?

Well..if you do any offroading or just bash the mall hard. You'll rub without trimming no matter what.

But a lift will help if you just crawl the mall from rubbing all the time.

Mainly due to you being on old stock suspension you'll probably rub. Just getting new coils that aren't a "lift" would help likely.

I'm more of the mindset to make it clear at full stuff but that's up to you

Set of 5100's set up a little. They should clear with spacers.

I'm planning on adding a lift eventually, probably within the next couple months. Right now I just need to buy new tires for my rims since I need to fit the Tundra brakes under them. I just want to make sure for now I can drive with the 16x7J wheels and the BFG 265/75-17 tires with no problem.

According to eBay's internal wheel fitment guide, the P265/75-16 won't fit but the P265/70-16 will. This is if you plug in a 2017 TRD Off-Road.

They will fit. But you'll have to do minor trimming I think. Nothing that bad. Small bit of plastic and a few wacky with a hammer.

Just as long as I don't have to take the angle grinder out trimming the plastic is no problem for me. Thanks!

That's what a dremel's for ;) Plus the difference in sizes is 1" different in diameter, so 1/2" in radius which shouldn't be a big deal until you're at full lock.

Edit: Just saw @Blackdawg already mentioned this.

Just saw this. I was like dang I thought I have problems. I didn't know what life could be like when you have real money lol.

Spent hours using every sticker remover all were worthless. Used paint thinner and in 45 min it was done and buffed out.

    Old decal new company logo.
It was extra nice to use the bat cave.

How much fluid film did you use? I just got my truck a few months ago, and the frame is in great shape, no rust, and I wanna keep it that way. Planning on doing fluid film asap.

I'm done with whatever maintenance I could do before inspection. Next will be alarm install and that should be it for now. FOR NOW.
