honda has been in the shadows trying to tackle the small/mid size (depends how you look at it) truck class for years, I don't think they're serious enough yet, great motorcycles, great cars, only makes sense they'd make a great truck , IF they devoted resources for it...

    Agree

I worked for Honda in the 80's. (HRC division, motorcycle racing) They manage to scratch and claw their way to the top of whatever mountain they decide to climb. I'm inclined to believe the Ridgeline is catered to whatever market they perceive as their goal. It is NOT designed or intended for the same market as the Tacoma. There IS some overlap in demographics, but I don't see the Ridgeline with plate bumpers, a winch, 6" DB lift, 35"'s, and a RTT.

It would be in Toyota's best interest that Honda never pursues THAT market.

I was still on Husqvarna's at that time....Jealous of the Honda guys. Switched to Honda in 1982 on a CR250 that took me from mid pack to racing for wins that summer.

Not that either are built for towing but hook two of them up and see who tows who, my bet is on the Ridgeline. As for looks, the Ridgeline takes a lot more aftermarket effort to unpussify but it's marginally doable. Ride and comfort are indisputably better in the Ridgeline, off roadability in stock form goes to the Taco only because it has more ground clearance. The electric locker in the Ridgeline is pretty handy as a standard option. They are two different rigs for two different purposes but a decent compromise once you graduate from your mud tire days in your mid 20's. I've owned both, and liked both. I think you've inspired a name for her "black sheep"

I didn't read all 16 pages but from the 1st post all that you require is a sedan that can tow 2000lbs.

You can add the Accord and Camry to your list. As well as just about every other vehicle sold in North America with 4 doors. All of them will get better fuel economy than the Taco.

you do know tug a wars are purely based off of weight and traction. ive seen a Yukon win a tug a war against a 2500 duramax. a better pissing contest would be to see who can run the Baja 1000 with the least amount of broken parts. my bet is the ridgeline doesn't even finish.

Watch the video comparing Tacoma, Colorado and the Honda. They take them off roading and up a nice little incline, the van doesn't make it halfway up before the transmission over heats.

...not a truck, just a pilot(minivan) with the back end chopped off. For the record, there is a difference between AWD and 4WD, so any comparison to the Taco is simply invalid.

Side Note: someone please delete this abomination of a thread, it belongs in another forum that deals with ridgelines (the open trunk minivan).
