Maybe it's your region then, because I just priced mine out here, and my Sport I bought for $34k in 2015 is still valued at ~$30k.

No idea, I've seen a few posts state the same I did. Almost 40k for a Loaded Sport like
mine, most are getting 28K and change as a quote for a trade - myself included.

Someone on the other thread confirmed, that 18 PRO will have a sunroof. Is that true?

I've seen infinitely more posts about folks selling their 3rd gens for around what was paid.

Again, I'm sure region matters. Here in CA Tacomas are in extreme demand.

East Coast, they're everywhere here on the lots.

31k-33k for a loaded 16' TRD 4x4 Sport with Prem. Pkg, moon roof, etc.

No offence, but it seems like people tend to inflate the cost in their favor on TW.

Meaning, "Almost $40K", and that was probably after TTL or "Out the door" price. I paid $37,600 for my '17 TRD OR and 10 months later with 17k miles on it I am confident I could sell it for a lot more than $25k.

    Agreed.

Both my 16 TRD OR and my 17 PRO were bought for invoice +300 from OR dealer, that many of us bought from. None of us paid the $10,000 "market adjustment" people like to write about, but not actually pay.

that would be true if the "new" ranger was in fact a brand new design.

Ford is taking the global ranger (sold in Asia/Europe/Africa etc.) and just updating it to meet US markets and regulations, so emissions, safety and such. All of the major components have been in production for several years, even the powertrain is being borrowed from other vehicles. The only problems you might run into is some fitment issues as the plant gets used to making it. But the durability of everything has been proven out. The fact these things are all over Africa, Australia, and Asia shows they are some pretty robust trucks.

I thought about getting a newer Tacoma or even jumping up to a Tundra or a F150. But since the new Ranger is here in two years I'll probably go that route, price dependent.

The problem with this: 100% of TRD Pros ordered by dealers would then have those options. That's how dealerships roll when it comes to top trim levels.

Trust me I would go with Tundra if you have any need for a full size. After driving mid size for 13 years I thought it would take longer than 5 miles to adjust.

My problem is I can't quite justify the full size yet beyond "I want a wider bed and I need to fit a car seat without cramming the front seat forward and have room for the dog". I love the Tundra's especially with the TRD exhaust. Just wish they would update them a little bit more to get the better gas mileage and some updated tech in it.

I’ve had a Sequoia and 12 miles per gallon all the time sucks. I drive about 50/50 mix of Highway and city.

And don't forget about the Jeep pickup coming out next year also. It is based on the Wrangler and will have front and rear lockers. Anyone considering a Taco Pro might want to wait to check those out as they will be much better off roading rigs than the Pro Tacomas. Just adding a slightly nicer suspension doesn't really make the "Pro" model much more trail worthy than a standard Off Road Tacoma. I myself was going to purchase a 2018 Pro as I couldn't get a 2017 from my dealer earlier this summer. Now I think I might wait to check out the new Jeep pickup unless the Pro model adds a few more features for 2018.

IMO, the old TRD grill looked a lot better and I'm no fan of that either...

That would be fine. If I am buying the top tier Tacoma I expect it should have all the best features; best suspension, leather, JBL, moonroof, etc.

I believe some said the same about JBL audio when the 2017 Pro came out. I recall reading posts where people were sure they saw it on some thread, or a friend of a friend said they saw one with JBL, etc. I would be happy to be wrong here, and see a Pro with JBL and Moonroof options. I'll believe it when I see it.
