totally, but my disdain for ridgeline vs tacoma debate completely blinds me of such humor.

    Deep breaths ;)

The Ridgeline is pretty great for what it is. Anybody who would rather an AWD car but needs a bed for carrying things and some towing would probably be better off in one because it will do what they need and not have the downsides of a body on frame solid axle setup. The half of this forum that bitches about squeaking springs, driveline noise and ride quality fall right into that demographic too.

The Ridgeline is more like what the Aussies call a UTE. If I bought a ridgeline I wouldn't try to butch it up with truckiness... I'd go the other way - lower it and take it to a couple track days. It's a car that you can haul your tools, fuel and rubber in the back of ;)

Give me a few months for a full comparison. But so far the Ridgeline is a better/nicer vehicle overall. No one can argue this. The throttle response, transmission, how it smooth it is, fuel econ. RL does all that better.

I switched because I didn't love driving the RL. It was too nice if that makes any sense. I had a Tundra before and missed the rugged feel. Other than that it's hard to explain why So far I prefer driving the Tacoma. Other cars we have are Honda Odyssey and older E46 330 ZHP.

    Makes perfect sense.

    Rugged + Rough + real men = Tacoma/Tundra

    Nice+smooth + pussified girly men = Ridgeline

You have made excellent choices in life. Your previous indiscretions will be forgiven.

    funny as shit.

as for the lift on a ridgeline, anyone see the video where the transmission overheated going up a dirt road, they had to stop(the vehicle refused to move) and leave it there. I think it was TFL Truck on youtube.

I agree with what others have said about the comfort, ride, handling, etc of the Ridgeline being its strong suit. It’s definitely not a truck at heart.
But, what really bugs me about it is the schizophrenic styling. It’s like there were two different design teams, one at the front end, one at the back. No flow at all. If you are behind one in traffic, it actually looks a little like a truck. The front, well...

The Ridgeline isn't bad, but the comments about not feeling enough like a truck make sense. In my opinion, the coolest thing about the Ridgeline is the trunk in the bed.

I did a quick search but couldn't figure out what the OP ended up going with...Taco or Ridgeline?

I like the Ridgeline but it's missing things I consider essential in a truck. A manual transmission, a 6ft+ bed and low range. If I'm going to sacrifice all of those things I'd be better off with a Pilot.
