does anyone have a part # for Bilstein 5100 snap rings? Or are they just general snap rings?

Ive seen this BIL part # pop up a few times. Just want to be sure

I guess secondly, is it necessary to get them? All im doing is swapping springs and dropping the snap ring to zero. What are the chances they need to be replaced or need to be pried out for some reason?

You wont need too replace them, just slip them out of the current notch with a ice pick or something sharp, and them move them down into the notch you want them in.

Me. In my 'specialty tool' drawer.

Has a wine cork on the tip for protection. Had to get that from a rich friend, as all the wife buys is screw top. :D

I used my finger. It's not very difficult to remove/relocate.

Become buds with your dentist or hygienist and ask for their cleaning tools that they are about ready to replace. I have a couple. They look a lot like the pictured tools, but they are stainless, very strong, and mine were free.

Work well for a few things.

I have actually had the snap ring fail on me and deform, I only slid it out of its groove and it bent open and I was unable to use it, I was in a pinch and needed shocks for work that night and bought new shocks. So word lf warning it is a possibility
