2013, the packet of laws passed after sandy hook, I honestly don’t remember which law specifically I have no desire or need to keep up with Ca’s laws, I basically keep up with my states laws and the 2 states that I travel to the most, my concealed carry permit is good for all the states that I regularly travel to/through so that’s the extent of what I keep up on for state level. Federal level I just try to keep up with NFA stuff.

Lake Michigan get's big enough sometimes, LOL. If that's your lifestyle, I get it. And yes they do, but its a hell of a lot more than just the gun laws that make them leave. I image from your post that surfing to you is what shooting is to me...so there's that.

AK's are good kit if you go after the right ones, and they are a little spendy compared to the rest. There's a lot of shitty AK's out there. Just be careful.

Looking at WASR 10. And you're right, plenty to hate about CA but the surf keeps me happy enough

Can’t go wrong with a WASR. Stay away from the Ras 47 and the psak47.

Not sure, limited options because has to be CA compliant but thanks for the tip. They're all made in Romania. Which years are the best and why?

I run Aero LPKs in 3 different AR10 lowers and haven't had a problem. I know that's jut one kit, but word is that DPMS is pretty good in AR10.

I know palmetto arms says that they highly suggest you pair their uppers with their lowers because of the fitment with other manufacturers and I have heard it as a general statement but would like to hear other peoples real life input

There's good ones to be had of any vintage, the older ones typically have less of the issues common with AK's. Cali compliant rifles aren't my forte, but I imagine the rules still apply. Function test and shoot anything first, and look for misaligned sights, stamping defects, etc. WASR's are pretty good for the price.

Yeah, it’s amazing how well that old surplus ammo still performs. I had a Mosin-Nagant that I cut off 6 inches and threaded and put a break on and that was an air Killer! a straight up thunder Canon.

I used a Juggernaut Tactical upper and a matched lower with an Aero Precision LPK. Everything worked out great.

Do you own a pair of calipers or micrometers, measure the OD of the two different cases that you were shooting, the ones that worked and the ones that were jamming.

And somebody remind me, which one has the higher gas pressures? .223 was a 5.56? I Run wlyde now and it’s been so long that I have forgotten . I thought it was the .223, is it possible he’s over expanding the cases in the chamber because the barrel was designed for 5.56?
