    Hi!

I'm ordering a white SR AC 2.7 5sp 4x4 with sr convenience package. This is a pretty rare configuration, around my parts especially. The dealership isn't budging at all on the msrp because it's a special order. Should I just let go of the idea of getting any kind of a deal on this truck? There are a couple around w/in a 500 mile radius but they seem unwilling to negotiate either, and they're far away, so I'm leaning toward the special order. I saw a couple people here claiming they got theirs for under 25, these must be the utility package though?

Do you think these 5speed 4cyl hold value anything like the v6s?

Anything else to say about these trucks? I put down my $250 deposit today and I'm really excited for this to happen. It's my dream truck. I used to drive a '92 ext can pickup with a 22re and 5 speed/4x4, which I loved, so really stoked to own the 2017 version, fresh from the factory.

    Thanks for your words!

You’ll love it! I have the same configuration in black, I only got maybe $600 or so of MSRP. Doesn’t hurt to try and get them down, but it’s still a great truck for the price. I see no reason that they won’t hold their value just as well as a v6.

    Nice! Yeah I'm really excited.

These trucks aren't going to be made in this configuration anymore....I just saw the build options for the 2018s at the dealership. They discontinued the 4cyl SR 4x4 with manual transmission!! It will only be available in automatic, which as far as I'm concerned rules out the 4cyl as an option for me. So if you're like me and you love this combo, hurry up and order a 2017 NOW before they stop making them. Dealership said we're in the last week or two to order a 2017. Only TRD Sport and OR models will be available with a stick shift in 2018 :(

Considering that they will become even more of a rarity, maybe that will add to resale....

That’s awesome and terrible at the same time if it’s true. As I was driving today I took a moment to be thankful that I bought my truck when I did and side stepped TSS. If the above is true, it won’t be able to get a manual unless it’s attached to an engine nobody likes.

Kinda wished I would have went that route instead of the 36k TRD OR that i bought. I'd be a little less concerned about cutting stuff on it and scratching it on the trails

    Re: TSS
My taco is stuck at the dealer b/c when I dropped it off to have the diff leaked fixed, they took it apart and then realized they had the wrong gasket. So while we wait for that to come in, I have a rav4 with TSS.
Turned lane assist off, can’t figure out how to turn off radar cruise. It is nice and infuriating at the same time. Would rather have regular cruise.

I got that same truck back in August. I ended up driving to Birmingham, about 180 miles from me, to get it. Dealer didn't budge much on the price- but I made them take out the price for the tint ($400.. wtf), floor mats, and "special air in the tires" bs. Ended up walking out right around $27k + TN Uncle Sam's cut.

I highly doubt they will discontinue the 4cyl 5-Speed Manual Access Cab.

Just bought this 05 used and after looking for months there just are not any deals unless you want high mileage. Paid $13500 with 85,000 mile. Seems like a lot to me so I would say they hold there value

I have the same in white. Not many around in my area either. Ordered one but a few weeks later ended up finding one 100 miles away exactly the way I wanted in my color with only 3 miles. :) Got it for Invoice. Very Pleased. Every time I drive it -- I always have a big grin.

    Nice

I just got the spec sheet w/ vin from the dealer - its tagged w my name and set to be built in the first week of November!

Hey man I hope you're right, I wouldn't believe it if I didn't see the 2017 and 2018 option sheets side by side, with my model missing on the 2018 options. I hope I'm wrong too, but since Ive got one coming, admittedly I'm a little happy inside that I may at least be getting one of the last of it's kind :D

To think I considered waiting for the 2018s.... I would be pretty bummed to have missed the window

Dunno about the 2017 and 2018 models, but I got my 2015 in the same configuration for 24450 out the door, so 25 with inflation sounds right. Their margins are lower on the 4cyl trucks, so they don't deal as much. They still make a hefty profit, but their sales brains see the lower MSRP as "money left on the table."

I have the exact truck. Most of the dealers within a 200 mile radius of me were willing to negotiate quite a bit under msrp or match their competitors.

Toyota resale is always stellar compared to other makes, but the 5 speed seems to hurt the resale. My wife has refused to make a serious effort in learning to drive a manual, so we were looking into replacing my truck and it seems that manual transmissions seem to knock value down by 1-2k. (At least that was the trend that I found when looking at car ads online).
