I don't want to be "that guy" that says, "I am in" then backs out. I completely understand this situation and feel sympathy for @Mrguitarguy01, @docloco and anyone else who has worked to make this group buy happen. I am sure you are beyond frustrated. I can easily say "I'm in!" only to back out because logistics or pricing has changed. There are so many things up in the air right now that I would really like to hear what is proposed to happen before committing. Having said that, I understand that this ends up being a bit of a catch 22 situation. I will say that I am in for similar arrangements as the first proposed purchasing agreement but I am also willing to listen to what others have found out for different options.

Having said that, I think that the bonds holding this group buy together are getting more and more tenuous as time goes by.

Do you have prices yet, or do they have to be shared privately?

Guys, its a real simple question, are you in with taking a risk of 30% of your money ($200) to get it all ready. If you are, I can make a separate bank account and you can all direct deposit. Until we decide we're moving on this lets not bring up other manufacturers. Not because I care, but because its taking away from the subject. If we decide to move on, then by all means, post it up here. Like I said from the beginning. I'm in at $700. I would like that to include the annex.

If you'd like me to remove my post above I will. I don't want to impact your GB in any way. Just let me know and you can always keep the info in your back pocket just in case.

As an outside observer watching this all unfold, it appears that the original gb is dead in the water. Personally I wouldn't risk any amount of money on the hopes of saving a couple hundred bucks.

In my mind the obvious choice would be to go thru an established company that has already handled all of the mind numbing logistics. That way there is no risk on the consumer and the retailer can create goodwill with our diehard niche market. It's a win win.

Well gentlemen, here’s where everything blows up for me. PayPal just informed me that my account is now permanently closed because they considered what I was doing as high risk. I will be refunding all of the east coast shipping charges. As for my other group buys that I personally conduct, I will look for alternate ways of receiving and dispersing funds. Good luck with the rest of this.

I don't recommend Square as an option, FWIW - for a small business. I've used Venmo for internet sales, but no clue how they handle volume/mitigate risk or if that's even offered through them like PayPal does.
