OK guys I am a new member so be gentle this is my first thread...

I have a black 2005 double cab, long bed, pre-runner TRD. I am looking at 33"s on 20" rims ( saw a pic in here the other night and I am sold on it). Will a 3" lift work? If so what brand, cost, and will I need any fender mods, cuts, etc? i am not going off road, just want to look like I could if needed...

If anyone has any pics of your pre-runner with a 3" lift with 33's I would greatly appreciate it. I have been a member for a few days but have found the threads to be very helpful!!!

not a prerunner, but here's my '06 double cab long bed

i'm running 305/55 20's (which works out to 33.4" tire) on 20X10 wheels (-21 mm offset)

the 3" lift included the following:

    OME 885 coils
    Bilstein 5100 shocks
    Toytec 1/2" spacers
    1.5" AAL in the rear
    Total Chaos UCA's

Also had to trim the cab mounts and trim plastic and metal inside the wheel well to clear the new shoes

check out this thread and feel free to pm me ?'s :)

Klipp - That looks great but it looks like an intense process...My truck looks exactly like your stock pics...looks much better after the lift...
How much did the lift cost ya?

you can check out the down south motorsports website for current prices on the lift items i listed. talk to sonny when you order and mention you're on tacoma world for the forum discount.

    http://downsouthmotorsports.com/

you'll find the 1/2" spacers here as far as the cab mount chop, you'll have to find a shop that has the equipment for the job and pay them for their time at the shop rate.

do you have your wheels and tires picked out?

I like the look of the 33's or a size similar...saw some 20's i liked from a pic but have just started researching it. I dont want to have a lot of trouble having the shop install...the less issues the better. I may have to run a slightly smaller tire and possible an 18" wheel but the 20's look damn good! I dont want to go the 6" route...i would like to have older family memebr be able to get into the truck without a ladder :)

i loved the look of the wheels stuffed on a 3" truck when i started the build and that's what i ended up with, very pleased with how it turned out.

like i said, feel free to ask me any ?'s you have down the road :)

Just remember if it's mainly street driven and you want to maintain a factory ride, I would suggest avoiding spacers. Spend more and have the best of on/off road quality and go with coilovers. Same goes for the adjustable Bilstein 5100 shocks if you max it out.
