I made the mistake of using my ETC power button for the first time yesterday, it drives like a different truck.

    Too few to list.
So my mom drives a 2014 Prius as she commutes a lot. I have driven the Prius a handful of times and it has a "eco mode" as well other drive settings. The Tacoma's regular mode drives like eco mode. Slight pedal delay, slow acceleration, and up shift happy. I assume Toyota did this on purpose to get higher mpg's for the CAFE standards. That's probably why they also gave us the ECT button so we can have the truck drive as it should.

I just wished it was reversed and have to push the button for an eco mode and not the other way around.

    That is until @mesojdm device...

Is there anyway you could give more info on the cig lighter method or perhaps a quick tutorial? I think I would prefer that over the fuse tap thing. Currently it's working great (never going back) but I would like to have the cover over the fuse box for the future.

Interested in the ETC Crack 2nd Edition. I'm getting that George Jetson finger from pushing that silly button every time.

1st off..... holy shit!!! was that a quick and ez mod, nice work meso.

lol, hoping this doesn't work my ocd too much and I have to take it apart but those fuses are
in there pretty friggin tightly so I can't imagine one falling out so for now I'm leaving it as it. It's
tucked up so high and out of site.

I need to keep my ocd craziness on the friggin wheel/pedal vibe... maybe one day I'll get the
tune file I paid for... :boink: I've heard that helps.

The fuse pulling tool is located in the large fuse box under the hood. Its the larger size black box next to the battery.

Exactly. Thats the way it should be but I bet they can't do it that way do to the CAFE standards.

Anyone know if Atkinson is disabled when ECT is enabled?

Glad to see you were successful Meso. I'm thinking I'd be interested in the 2nd iteration.

i asked that before and reply was no but it sure feels like it. IMO ETC mode is doing more than just controlling the way it shifts.
i have posted this before, drive at 40 mph with ECT on then holding steady at 40 mph switch ECT off and the truck slows down and you feel yourself being pushed forward like you slightly braked. that's got to be atkinson kicking in?

That's exactly what I've experienced. It doesn't feel like a throttle thing, it feels like and engine output. Based on what we know about the Atkinson cycle is that it is lower fuel consumption and stress on the motor, but also less power production.

What you're feeling is the electronic throttlebody going into eco mode as well, i.e. the throttle plate closing more so than in ECT
