The Beer Nerd - what are you drinking / brewing thread

Know what you mean. Although I do enjoy nice single malt or a glass of red wine (it’s good for my heart) beer is what I get the most from. A good Barleywine provides a flavorful first sip and a warming sensation as it goes down. I find it relaxing.

 

I'll have to look into finding some of that then, to see what you mean.

 

Something something NE IPA from mikkeller. Delicious.

 

Trying to get over my dislike of bitter beers. Actually had and enjoyed a Sierra Nevada pale ale with my steak tonight. Followed it up with a country boy IPA (currently on travel, local to where I am), which was actually very good. After the bitterness came the distinct tastes of grapefruit. I love grapefruit. There was a whole lot going on with this beer. Pretty impressive.

Not ready to say I “like” IPAs, but hey, I tried tonight. I wasn’t disappointed. Will definitely be more open minded in the future.

My oldest was having a coughing attack when we put him to bed. Finally fell asleep around 11pm our time... Finally. Fingers crossed he doesn't wake up coughing. Got his head propped up with a couple pillows.

So... Enjoying my 2nd Founders Porter right now, and feeling nice!

Was home yesterday with my oldest.

OUCH. Well... our night didn't go so well. He woke up at about 1 crying a lot, nonstop, and coughing. Brought him to our bed, still crying and coughing. Let him sleep with us, but he was coughing all night. Needless to say now I feel like shit because I barely got any sleep. It's going to be a great day.... NOT.

 

sorry to hear. Hoping he feels better soon.
I have had a cough for weeks. Bedtime is the worst it seems.

 

Oh yeah.....I need more beer in the house.

He's hanging in there. Still coughing. Daycare said he coughed a lot at nap time, which is normal... When you lay down, the post nasal drip is worse I guess. Last night was super rough. Finally fell asleep at 11,but woke up crying at 1. Tried to give him over the counter counter cough syrup but he wasn't having it. Let him lay down with us, to try to get him to go back to sleep... Coughed all night. I got no sleep. Felt like shit in the morning. I took the day off and used up a volunteer day since my job gives us two a year, and volunteered to be a chaperone for his class' field trip to a small pumpkin patch. His first field trip ever. Then I used the rest of the day to clean my leafs and mow my lawn.

 

Hope everyone can get some rest tonight.

 

Thanks a lot Rick! He seems to have fallen asleep and isn't coughing right now. I propped his head up with two pillows. Problem is he moves all over the place at night, so eventually he'll "fall off" the pillows, and then we'll see.
