Once you can confirm everyone has received their refund I'll close this thread down. If you choose to start another RTT GB quest I suggest you have all of the details sorted out with the vendor before making any promises to the members here so we can avoid another mess

Personally I don't think the issue lied in the OP or the Vendor. Paypal locking accounts is where the issue came from. We had the funds, the people, and the OP had the go ahead with the Vendor. It sucks that it all makes the OP look bad but I honestly don't see the OP as the issue. Just my two cents.

Yup. But the mod wasnt paying attention. They just came in a couple of pages ago and asked for cliffnotes, probably because money/refund issues were involved. But I guess people need to have their opinion. I'm too tired to argue. I'm getting a tent. I'm sending my money to Francis. If it all goes bad oh well.

I appreciate the mods looking out for the members, it is one of the important reasons why TW is what it is. In this case the problem was not because of lack of preparation, effort or dishonesty. More just complicated logistics dealing with a large sum of money and a vendor on the other side of the world. I think it is hard to be upset with PayPal as well. They have a business to run as well and this transaction raised red flags with them. They are just trying to protect us, their customers, even if we do not want to be protected.

yep, Paypal is to blame here. OP and the vendor and GB paticipates have done exactly what they said they would. PayPal has screwed this up and I will never use them again.

Its been a few years since I have been in an E-cig group buy but Paypal wouldn't have anything to do with E-cigs so we used https://www.popmoney.com/

I am going to email tuffstuff and see what kinda offerings they have, either way weather its good info or bad info. I have no interest in "running a group buy" never done it and have no time to do it currently. But if i get good info from them does anyone want to be the ramon?

The mod was alerted to this thread out of concern for the members. Lots of folks have tried group buys and failed. Lots of members have been scammed in the past. I'm just here to make sure this isn't another instance of that happening. If you've kept up communication to all involved and refunds are being issued then I'm not going to interfere with that.

When I suggested that you make sure all details were settled before attempting another GB that meant having the payment process set - like paying the vendor direct rather than shuffling it through personal accounts first. It does look shady. And make sure shipping is set and that the vendor (not you) is prepared to ship the tents to their recipient. Again, just opening yourself up to a whole lot of problems.
