I would probably do it if I were in the market for a BRAND NEW 2018 TOYOTA TACOMA.
But I would still see if I could get them to come down a little more, just for shits and giggles.

Unless Canadians sell cars differently, you shouldn’t be shooting for X dollars off the MSRP, you should be negotiating X dollars off the invoice price.

I think if you can get invoice on a Taco, you have done well.

Maybe it’s different in Texas where every swinging dick has a truck but I had numerous dealers willing to go below invoice. Had three of them show me the invoice breakdown including holdback, TMF, and all that other crap they tack on

Bigger dealership I'm sure, they want numbers for big swinging dick bragging rights and bonuses. I got invoice, well just below in the end on an "ordered" truck from factory. I was happy, and I worked to get it down there.

No such thing as a good deal on a Tacoma. They are solid trucks that get good money, no matter the year.

I got C $2000 off MSRP on a 2017 TRD sport upgrade package (MSRP was $41960, me buy for $39960), not a great deal but that as much as I could get here in Vancouver Island , BC. Brought in August 2017. The truck drives like a dream, no problems with what so ever. Down south from what I read there is more discount to be had but they are the one having most of the problem on their truck...wonder if it had anything to do with where its built, all truck coming to western Canada come from Texas plant, including mine and the ones that are sold in USA are mostly from Mexico!

I sat in front of the "aftermarket" sales lady and shot down everything she offered by Googling it right in front of her. Her claim was I'd be "losing the factory warranty coverage for those parts if I install it myself." Pfft, $800 for step bars? Dafuq outta here. $250 delivered, installed to spec in 20 minutes. Do sales people bank on intimidating you into not looking the parts up and calling them out? Thats what I saw.
