Hey, college student here. I am fairly sure I want a 2016 taco. My only worry is that I heard head clearance isn’t all that. I’m decently tall (6’3ish). Anyone who has a 2016 Want to inform me on what your experience has been like, especially on long drives.

    Have you sat in one?

Some find it fine, some hate it. Everyone has their own experience.

most here say get one without the moon-roof option and you'll be fine.

I am 6'1" and have no problem. Although I have bumped my head a couple times getting into the truck. The door sill is kinda low at the top.
I've heard more complaints (on TW) regarding seat comfort than complaints about head room.

Not all 6'3" are created equal.

Some have it in their legs, some in their torso.

Go to a dealer/car show, sit it on one and decide for yourself.

I'm 5'11 and would say there is still quite a few inches above my head. The cabin doesn't not feel small at all. The seats are the real make or breaker IMO as they are not adjustable. My buddy is about as tall as you and has never complained about headroom.

    this

and just go sit in one? See how you like it?

There's been threads on it here.
Depends where your height comes from. I'm 6' long legs. average torso, so I'm fine with head room.

Someone with short legs but a long torso may find it different though.
Your best bet is go sit in one and see how you feel.

I'm 5'4" and I bumped my head a few times in my '16 Tacoma, but then again I'm pretty clumsy.

I'm 6'4" and was very happy with the headroom in the '17 I bought yesterday.

I have a couple hours of driving today to head over to a buddy's shooting range. It'll be a nice initial road trip to see how it feels.

My legroom is improved over the '07 Frontier I've driven the past ten years. Not as much knee bend needed by my blown out left knee to enter/exit the truck. Much appreciated as I'll be getting the knee replaced in a few months.

    None as of yet
6'3 with a moon roof. I have to really sit low in my seat which doesn't bug me. First time I sat in one withoit the moon roof and didn't have to adjust myself. I did bump my head on the door for both trucks

The roof does curve down a bit on the door frame, so this type of thing could definitely happen. Seems to always happen to me when I try and get into a car.

Only had my Taco a week, but we are a tall family and all of us have been in at one time or another. My oldest son is 6'4", oldest daughter is 6', my wife is 6'3" and I'm 6'1". No complaints out of anybody yet. My wife has been relegated to the back seat once and had no complaints on a short trip.

Test drive one. Or at least test sit a couple.

Different torso and inseam lengths make the difference. You know, like not all 6'2" people wear the same length pants or shirt sleeves.

Not sure what being a college student has to do with the fit? But I am curious how a college student swings a $30k+ ride.
