One tip I can give us to put tape on the drill bit, leaving only 1/2" of the tip exposed. It'll stop the bit from going too deep.

So with the curtain airbags, the front bolt, of the furthest back bolts, hits the airbag. I found this out after I drilled one hole.

One side i didnt drill the hole. The rack is Still strong as hell

On the back bracket, only drill the farthest back hole. Let me get pictures for you before it gets dark.

    Also, get lots of silicone

Another thing I highly recommend is a drill punch and a fresh bit. I bought a cheap $10 Amazon step bit, and it worked well. On some of the holes I had to run a regular drill bit through though to clean it all out, and it was a random size so it helps to have a large assortment of drill bits. Harbor freight sells a complete set with every size imaginable and it's cheap.

I haven't looked into it much.. but so is drilling all the way through the roof unnecessary and it's just drilling some countersunk holes?

No, you have to drill all the way through. I just did the tape method so I wouldn't go flying through and drill a hole in my headliner.

Gotcha! Aghhh I don't know if I can bring myself to do it. Has anyone reported a leaky roof from it?

Both myself and @fatfurious2 have done it with no leaky roofs! We just covered the rivnuts with silicone with mounting them, and we also covered the bolts in silicone when mounting it, then added some more for good measure.

Fill the T-slots all over the bar that is mounting the flaring and perhaps the bar behind that one. I actually removed the front bar bc I didn’t need it with all the kayaks I primarily haul up there and that reduces wind noise. With a good bit of work I got the noise on this thing down to absolute minimum

Thanks for the answer. What did you fill the T slots with?
