Pretty certain they changed the rules on drones. I think you only need to register them and no longer need a certificate to operate them. That said, I'm not a drone operator or instructor. I also know the airspace for the area where cars and coffee is held is uncontrolled up to 1200 feet.

 

The drone they had at C&C Austin was fine. The event staff were being hard asses. If an actual Sheriff was involved then he doesn't know the law. I've flown there and the staff's concern is crashing into people and cars that most people will never afford. Federal regulations dictate that you cannot fly directly over large crowds. You don't need a certificate any more but the rules haven't changed. Max ceiling is 400 feet. Within 5 miles of an airfield requires the operator contact the airport.

Hey everyone, first post!

Just picked up a 2017 Off Road Magnetic Gray Metallic about 2 weeks ago.

So what kind of meets happen around here? I am in San Antonio. I was hoping to link up with someone who has an aftermarket exhaust to see what it sounds like in person.

Love the truck! Has some typical new truck things that I am working with the dealer on, frustrating...
