Pens / Oil was a good game. Decent pace. Great goaltending at both ends. McDavid's snipe was ridiculous. Phil's GW was also nasty. I liked it.

 

What a good game last night, Murray made some incredible saves! Next game I got tickets for is the 7th against the Coyotes!

 

It's funny, what Edmonton needs now is better secondary scoring... which is what they traded away when they dumped Hall.

 

Also, last year they leaned on Talbot so much. I felt like they got lucky with him staying healthy and being so consistent. It was almost too much to ask out of your starter. I think expecting/planning on that again for the 2nd straight year, is probably unrealistic. He looked good last night though. But ya, if they can't find a way to score like they did last year, while still leaning on him as much as they did, I don't know how well that is going to work out.

To many turnovers is what lowered their scoring chances. The amount of work they were putting in to get the puck only to turnover in the neutral was ridiculous. We played a great game behind murray but that guy (and basically the rest of the pens) were right there in front of the puck every time it went in the right direction. Good game to watch, glad to see it wasnt a blowout against the "best team" in the league.

 

Ya a few bounces and Oilers could've had 1 or 2 more on the board. Cole stopped that 1 open net and also Yamamoto missed that doorstep chance. I was at least happy that the Pens didn't let guys run wild in the transition game, like they have been known to do. We had a decent gap on McDavid and the boys, on the rush. So I was pretty happy about that. Talbot is really something. Like saying earlier in this thread (when we were talking about Price), he really impressed me last year. i think he got overshadowed a bit. Dude is super solid and will steal you guys some games this year. Just hope it doesn't become a habit where he is relied on too much. Hell of a goalie though.

 

As much as I hate the Leafs even I will admit they are having a pretty great start , I mean they have 3 more points than the Stanley Cup favourites , The Vancouver Canucks

 

Make sure they board up the windows downtown this time when the Canucks make the finals.
