Well after my last endeavor with my driveshaft on my Tacoma not being rebuildable I bought a new shaft and drove it all of...... maaaaaybe 100 miles

    Then things changed...

Sorry guys I didn't go buy a Toyota Corolla..... I got a Subaru WRX and said fuck the gas and auto, I almost bought a few other cars from members on this site but nothing sporty enough,

I had to wait a week or two to find a wrx with the limited package and navigation package but I did it

Do y'all hate it ? Cause I've done 80mph in 2nd gear lol I love driving to work now

We love our Subaru Outback. I am considering another Subaru for a commuter car or a Focus ST/RS :goingcrazy:

Glad you enjoy driving to work now!

The WRX is pretty solid for commuting, mine is averaging around 29 MPG 50/50 city/highway and it's definitely a blast on the roads around here. A replacement for real 4wd fun it is not, contrary to what many car people think of Subarus being, but the WRX truly is a great do-it-all car. Buddy of mine had the same body style as yours @3rYODA, he sold it after about 5 years and modding it to the point of unreliability...knowing these cars I'd say the more stock you keep it the better your ownership experience will be...mine has a cat-back but otherwise a stock powertrain and it's going to stay that way

    That's a sweet car!

Subies are solid cars. Before I bought my taco I really wanted a 2006 and before Forester XT manual. However, in the end I wanted something more off road capable. Also, I was a little afraid of the turbo which is unfounded anyway.

I definatly missed out on road handling and speed. My truck is can't even get out of it's own way.

However, I have a daily driver. It'll blow the doors off any stock subaru 0-100 or so....and I average 46mpg while going 75-80mph every where. The downside being it's a death trap. Hmmmm...maybe I could still get that 2006 XT Forester?

Just get the WRX or an STI I do 90 on the way to work every day I'm waiting for a ticket but I'll do 165 every now and again when I have a open freeway I'm sure you'll beat me but we will still run together maybe not side by side but I promise you won't get to far hahaha

I had a wrx with a cat back and Cobb tuning port. Bought it new.

It was great for about 15k miles and then it ran hot, burned oil, had recurring brake issues, and intermittent lag.

It was awesome but then seemed really, really small.

The service dept was terrible so I just traded it

X3 please do be careful. The code of conduct is clear on this.

Anyway, I've been wanting to do a track day. I wonder if they have track days with cars and bikes? I know the Nurburgring does cars and bikes at the same time but that's in Germany.

I keep the speed pretty low. The safest speed is the average speed. I ride about 1,000 miles a month. If I mess around I won't live long with the amount of riding I do.

Even if I wanted to go fast fast the vstrom will only do about 130. It's a slow bike. 0-60 in 4 seconds. It doesn't do anything well but it does everything.

I like the older style foresters. They were properly ugly. With the exception of the STI and the WRX the new subies kinda all look generic like RAV4's, CRV's etc.

Newer FA motor in my car is much more efficient.

An Accessport would probably be fine but it's a slippery slope from there

This is how I feel about my ZR-7. I don't commute much on it though, a 10 minute ride isn't worth putting my gear on for, and I'm not about to go ride without gear, so I only end up going on a cruise every now and then.

My daily is a BRZ, and I love the crap out of that thing.

BRZ is a fun car. I can see why you love it. I got to drive one a few times...it was hard not picking one up for myself.

For gear I have a two piece Aerostitch suit. It's super easy to put on and take off. It's HOT as hell during the summer but in winter ts fantastic! Well...Northern CA winters anyway.

Love the BRZ, still loosely considering selling my WRX and getting a GT86-platform car

I owned a '13 FR-S it was fun but really lacked low and mid range torque. I spent a few days in driving school, test and tuning it at Watkins Glens in 2013/14, I really liked that car until I bought my first Porsche 944.

Beautiful vehicle. I just traded my 2nd gen a couple weeks ago for an 18 limited with navi. Had to order and wait a month. Enjoy the new ride.

Southern Colorado winter is cold, especially in the AM. 20 degrees F or so. Where I live there isn't much snow, but even though my commute is short, I do get on the highway. What I usually do when I feel like riding is wear my regular gear but throw my snowboarding jacket over it lol. So I guess that's two layers. Plus boots, extra gloves, and I usually wear a balaclava under my helmet, that sometimes takes a little bit to adjust right. Then once I get to work I have to put all that away, change into regular shoes... maybe I'm just making excuses but it feels like I spend more time putting on/taking off my gear than actually riding.

It could use just a tad more power, I agree. Supposedly I/H/E and a tune really smooths it out, or a supercharger just makes it amazing, I wouldn't know, I'm all stock. I don't really mind it for DD. If I was tracking it or something, yeah, it might bug me.
What does bug me is the sound... road noise is to be expected but there are phantom rattles and squeaks everywhere. One of these days I'm going to take the whole interior apart and fix all the rattles.
