    Yep. Me Too.

In my case, it came to light three weeks before the wedding. She'd been living about 1000 miles away for six months with the occasional visit, so that's my defense of my cluelessness.

    Speaking of #MeToo

As one who grew up long before social media and hashtags, the # character is "pound" and represents either a mass of about 0.45 kilograms or a comment character used in unix configuration files and other programming scenarios.

This brings a whole different perspective to the various people posting #MeToo... :D

I played a prank on my girlfriend (at the time). She really wanted to go to the coast for valentines weekend one year, and I told her I had to work and we'd just stay home. I really had reservations made at nice motel and was planning on "leaving for work" like normal but going to the flower shop instead. I was gone maybe an hour, and walk in with an armload of roses. She's bent over the treadmill getting railed. Surprise! Still had to pay for the motel too.

Monogamy isn't a religious invention, it started long before that. The christians grabbed and ran with it, just like they did with winter solstice celebrations and a bunch of other stuff.

I found out that eventually you get your deposit back on a rental even if someone else is living in the place, and it's better to walk away than fight a guy with a boner.

in terms of middle-eastern origin stuff, it'd be the Jews who ran with it a couple thousand years prior. :D.

BTW, not to start a discussion, but I will say this. PM me if you wish to discuss further: To consider "the christians" as a monolithic block shows a lack of understanding of the history of the religion and differences between the various denominations today. Yes, the Roman Catholic Church co-opted stuff, including beginning the celebration of Christmas around 300-400AD (it wasn't celebrated in the first centuries of early Christianity) to coincide with already extant pagan winter solstice festivals. Many might claim that the Roman Catholic Church, for some period of time, had been far more about the power of its clergy than it has been about Christianity. It was that which largely led to Martin Luther's writings and the start of the Reformation movement... which became the foundation of the various Protestant denominations today.
