They help illuminate the sides well, makes a big difference navigating a corner in the dark. If you don't do any night wheeling you can skip them, but if you do have them aimed to the sides.

Here's I think the only picture I have at night with them on. Tighter turns or when there's rocks or ledges on the sides of you it helps a lot.

I lived at home till I was 24... Gotta agree with Brian as living for free is pretty awesome. Assuming your parents are cool and mine were badass.

I use to rent a house for 500$ a month I regret moving out and quadrupling my monthly payment. 500$ for a house is practically free right ... save enough and buy in a nicer neighborhood

There is nothing better than getting home and dropping all your clothes and walking around in you boxers. It’s the little thing you learn to appreciate when you move out on your own

I lived at home until I was 26, but I didn't finish my degree until I was 25. Lived with roommates for a few years (never, ever again), then by myself in a tiny little cabin guest house until earlier this year. My g/f and I found our 2 bedroom craftsman home in Monrovia for $2100, not bad split in half. All utilities included (with central AC) so we got a pretty square deal I think.

Although there's an additional substantial expense when living with a girl that you never really think of until it happens (at least I didn't)......home decorating :annoyed:

Wait til the kids come around and you think you will be able to go out and play than your girl gives you the dirtiest look she had hide from you and says very calmly ok go have fun. But you know you best not step outside ... ughh just gave myself the chills

To be honest, what scares me most about having kids in the near future is the fate of my truck.....access cab 1st gens and car seats don't mix :(

Honestly, you might need a tundra. Because even 2nd double cabs are tight with kids. But maybe the 1st gen can stay as a third car?

Keeping it as a dedicated trail rig/weekend vehicle is the ideal plan, though I'll need to be making a lot more $$$ by then to justify doing that along with all the expenses involved in having/raising a child. Looking at a year or two down the road at most, so I've got some time but not a whole hell of a lot, lol.

I see you own both a Tacoma and a 4runner. How much more room does the 4runner have? I might have to sell the tacoma and get a 4runner for the wife. I already have a tundra anyways. No need for two trucks. But can't take the hit yet.

Ok, good to know. Tacoma felt tight on long trips with 3 kids. But it's perfect for short trips and around town. Easier to park. We are contemplating on getting a 5th gen 4runner. But for now we will rock two trucks. His and hers. :)
