Not an important topic just seeing about any hints before I take every sticker and decal off my truck, I want to clean it up. Plus got a white Tacoma with silver decals so take off the two side door Tacoma decals and replacing with black ones

Yep, heat it up going back and forth over the decal, don’t let it sit in any one spot for too long. After that work some fishing line under one corner and gently pull until the whole thing is peeled off. Afterward I use bug and tar remover to get any sticky residue off then clean it up with a spray detailer and microfiber towel.

As it's been said...Heat gun (hair dryer) works fine for this....Heat it up, use fishing line or dental floss to cut the emblem off. Once you heat up the left over adhesive it literally will roll right off with your thumb. Finish it off with a little adhesive remover and its gone.

You may be left with a ghost image where the UV light never touched the paint behind the badges, I used a dual action polisher to smooth everything out and hide the ghost badging. Finished with a nice coat of collonite wax and it's like it was never there.

I was a little uneasy about using a heat gun so I went with a regular hair dryer... worked out pretty well.

I took my TRD stickers off with a blow drier on the low setting and some goo gone. Make sure you don't over heat as it can cause uneven wear in the paint. For the decals, try to dental floss. It will take longer than fishing line but is smoother and wont dig into your paint/clearcoat.

Yeah, I would stay away from the heat gun. There was a guy here a while ago doing the same thing, and lost a good chunk of paint. As has been said already, blow dryer will be plenty hot for what your doing.

Never thought I'd say this, but after reading this thread I think my wife has better tools for this than I do ... Going to try the blow dryer / floss combo on my TRD OR decals.
