This was more of a how-to DIY for you guys!

 

I've been subbed to this because these are bad ass and I'm waiting to see them on someone's truck. what I would like to see is the line you cut and how you went about resealing them. I'll do mine in the future just without all the lighting upgrades since I'm not that handy with electrical

Oh you guys thought I was done? ...This needs more custom.

How do you fit a 3 wire switchback bulb into a 2 wire socket? Here's how:

Stock turn signal bulb and connector:



New Morimoto switchback bulb with 7443 (3 wire) connector VS stock.
You can see the new socket is a smaller diameter and would fall right in the hole;


So I designed and made a snap in adapter.
For you light gurus; you will also notice I made it so the bulb sits further back.. making the "sweet spot" of the optics in line with the reflector bowl enhancing it's performance(emulating the beam pattern of the factory halogen) There IS a method to my madness.


This twist locks into the stock hole(using the stock rubber O-ring) and now adapts my switchback bulb/harness.



Here is the bottom(normally reverse) adapter as well.

I love your idea with the reverse lights and turn signals. If you can produce that adapter I'm sure they'd sell. Heck, put me down for a pair. I take it there's a resistor built in to the turn signal light?

 

I have not installed a resistor yet..
I am not sure if the load of double turn LED's will be enough not to trip the OEM flasher into hyperflash. I was going to try it as is, worst case I have a set of resistors I can throw on...but won't know until I test it on a truck.

I'm down to make the adapters if you guys want them. The top would be twist lock in, but the bottom would require you to enlarge the hole with a drill bit and epoxy the other adapter in.

 

Gotcha, I suppose you can't really test it out. Well keep us posted, this would be a fun little project. How much are those LEDs?
