    Hey guys,

So I've saved up enough to get some suspension and possible lift work done (3 inches max). My main concern is to achieve a softer ride quality over the stock OR suspension. I do haul about 600 to 800 pounds about once a week. It's 90% driven on the road and was looking to get something that would give the ride a more cushy approach. Your advice is greatly appreciated!

Haul 800 lbs. Softer ride quality. I think you may have to choose ONE.
Most people here change their stock OR suspension because it's too soft for them and the truck nose dives when they step on the brakes and cornering are sloppy.
So they go get 5100's or other stiffer shocks either w/ stock coils or coils with higher spring rate. Stock spring rate is 800lbs per inch which is already a bit stiff. With your kind-of load you may require coils with higher lbs per inch and more leafs in the back which certainly won't be a soft ride quality. Now if you want a lift along with this, and decided to go with stock coils, then it will be even more stiffer. If you went AM coils, you'd have to choose the right coil spring rate and height to give you the lift. In the end, it comes down to driving with the seat of your pants, and feel it. What feels right for someone, may not feel comfortable to another.
I don't know. Others here more knowledgeable can share their thoughts,

I have the off road and the ride is very soft, bad on corners, but really helps with the bad roads in New Jersey.

I have about 2000 to work with. Already have wheels and tires they are FN FX PROS with 265/70/17 C rated ko2s.

This is my first truck and my other car is a sedan. I know trucks ride rougher than a car of course. Was just wondering if I can have a set up to smooth out the ride a little more as well as still haul my max 800 pounds once a week. I know softer suspension equals not great for hauling. I'm happy with the stock OR suspension was just wanted some advice.

Do plan to do a lift but want to do it the correct way. I've been looking around and some say the 5100 ride a little stiff and some say they are softer over stock. So I guess my other question is what would you guys recommend. Want to keep the same ride quality but with a lift or maybe little more cushy but still keep my hauling somewhat at the same weight.
