I mean total weight would be 40% less. Again, this is off the cuff and I wom't know until I design them, build and test them and get them right.

Make me a deal on a set of DCLB AL sliders and an AL IFS skid, both powder coated and I’m in.

Side note: just bought a used, full set of your aluminum skids and I love them.

Joe, how much do your steel bolt on sliders for the access cab with a kick out and top plate weigh? Lets say 120 for the sake of conversation. 120-40% is around 72ish if this is for the set which still seams a bit heavy?? The xoverland guys said theirs clocked in at an amazing 52 lbs. for the pair which amazed me and why I came alive to the whole idea.

Also, for my needs I don't particulary care if a high lift could lift the vehicle or not. I suppose they could be designed with enough thick aluminum and gussets and such to do this if that was the goal but this gets back to adding weight to accomplish that and I am willing to make certain trade offs one of which is not to duplicate the lifting strength of the steel ones.

At 52lbs for a pair, I will not make them. IMO, there is no way in hell I would be comfortable in saying theyll withstand light offroading. That weight tells me there are a lot of corners cut and materials are thin in areas where they shouldnt be.

But again, Im COMPLETELY guessing on what theyll weigh and how theyll be designed.

If someone wants to have trust and faith in me and order a set, Ill make them and test them. Like I said, this GB is a feeler thread. For me to even bend the outee hoops to make this I have to buy tooling for our tube bender which is $600. A hard pill to swallow if I buy it and these never happen because I can't exactly return it.

Like I said, make me an offer on AL DCLB sliders and an AL IFS skid and I’m in.

Oops, posting going on too fast and my typing too slow.........

In my post 28 in this thread I used 120lbs for the calculation. I know you can't narrow this own yet but lets now use your 140 lbs figure that nets roughly 80-90 lbs in alum. Problem as I see it is one manufacturer claims roughly that weight for a pair in steel and they can lift with a hi-lift. Now I know this is not the same as your quality but....

40% less weight. Boy that's tempting.

I'm sick of driving a 6k pound Tacoma.

Should have went aluminum skids too

If these can truly handle a high lift that would be amazing. The lighter weight means more to add in gear… if your into more camping crap

    Hmm watching this thread.

Also I would consider ordering if this can withstand a hi lift jack.

I'm interested to see how these turn out.

Always cool to see weight saving options.
