That may be right to some extent, but to be honest I wouldn't know that since I don't really follow football or basketball. Not sports I got into. I'll put on a football game if there is nothing else on, but it's just to have the TV on. Same goes for basketball. Hockey I do follow, and my Rangers have been close the past few years without luck, but stinking it up this year so far.

And if there is any other sport that the article applies to, I wouldn't really know either since I likely don't follow it.

I'm practically in NY state... and apparently my TV company (DirecTV) thinks I actually live in NY state. All I get are NY locals...

 

I noticed that it only took about another 10 mins to be in NY from your place lol

I'm a NY native and wouldn't root for any of the Citiot teams. I don't mind the Giants because they had a decent presence in the Albany area, but otherwise most of the state does everything they can to disassociate with the armpit that is NYC.

 

I'll be honest Mike. When I first moved to the US, at the end of 94, and was trying to learn English, I watched a lot of TV. Sports was something I was always into, so I watched a lot of that. Football never really caught my eye, and basketball did very little. Because of where I live, most of the TV companies give you NY locals, and NY sports channels. Didn't really get CT locals, which I think would be more geared towards NE sports. So, because of that, I started following the NYC teams. Rangers, Yankees, and eventually the NY Red Bulls. That's why I root for them. Where I am I think there are a lot of NY sports fans because we're so close to NYC. But I'm sure there are a lot of NE sports fans as well since we're a NE state.
