What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

I can't find them

 

There's two adjusters, one is up and down, the other is left and right. It's a 12 point socket... 6mm? They're on opposite sides of the headlight. It heps to have a wall to point at. If you wanna be anal, watch the Chrisfix video on how to get it perfect.

 

I have already tack welded mine, but wonder if the best option might be to drill and use a shear pin, rather than a roll pin??

So weird to see an electronic 4WD shifter knob in a 1st gen. The Tundra A340F mounted to the existing mounts the same, right?

 

It was a 06 Tundra A750F 5 speed auto. I moved the cross-member back 2 3/4 inches. The combination switch is from a 2006 4 runner. I want to get the transfer case from the 4runner so I can have all wheel drive with center diff lock.

 

when its my time, its my time. full weld all around. The tack welds broke the first time around. But I actually use my truck

 

Is that transfer case hard to find?

 

Roll pin is going on 1 year in mine. Still tight.

 

I know where one is. It is the transfer case I got the switch from. The owner wants to sell the motor trans and all.

 

What would you say was the most difficult part of the swap?

 

@MstrYota Was selling one. It came off of a JDM 4Runner.

 

Wiring the tacoma systems into the Tundra harness, heating, e-locker, e-brake, shift lock, It was brain work.

 

I was just reading through your build thread. How much custom wiring did you have to do opposed to just integrating the Tundra harness into the Tacoma harness?

Yeah the PO barely drove it. Only Toyota service record it had until I got it this past July was for frame rust preventive spray- in 2010odo reading was only 29000. (Truck is 2004) I assume he used it to haul his kayak just every once in a while. (Bought it near Smith Mtn lake VA and it had a roof rack with signs of a boat rack once being on it.)

 

I got a buddy who picked an one up with 31k original miles with a supercharger, stick, 4x4 like 2 weeks ago. Jealous a little but definitely not jealous of the price

 

What was the price? That's a damn gem right there
