Damn. That'll be enough to keep me up all night. I was planning on bringing a sidearm anyways but still kind of scary. I won't be able to mention this to my wife otherwise we'll be sleeping in the walmart parking lot for sure.

Oh, don't be scared of them if you have a pea shooter. I had an encounter and all I had was a bow, and a couple of arrows. By myself at dusk, on the edge of a meadow with elk milling all around me. I heard the first one about 100 yards behind me, and the second one answered 100 yards in front. The elk fell silent. I did too. I then realized that the pack had moved in around me without my sensing them in any way. It was dry and crunchy too. As darkness fell I realized all of the elk had left the area, but the wolves were still there. I simulated their howl, loud, low, and with all of my breath. They responded and it was fascinating. Shortly after they were gone and I stumbled back to the Landcruiser in darkness, questioning my fitness as an apex predator. I still wonder what would have happened if I didn't howl. What if I screamed like a girl and ran? For sure if I popped off a round they would have boogied, but it was a cool experience and I wasn't scared. Maybe I should have been, I dunno.

That is crazy! I hate to admit it but you are way more badass than I will ever be. I have no idea what I'd have done in that situation. Good to know that the XD9 will keep me safe though.

Eh, they're just dogs. Chances are they won't be that close to the freeway, but my buddy is a UPS driver and sees them up there sometimes. Just thought I'd let you know. Some people have no idea they are that close to town.

Naw. There hasn't been a fatal attack by wild wolves in the lower 48 since before 1900. The number of nonfatal attacks over that same time by wild wolves in the lower 48 is really small. Got to watch out for dogs when they are off leash though. And I'd keep children within eyesight just out of an overabundance of caution. And that's more about the cougars than than the wolves

The thing that's actually dangerous is the two legged vermin.

Got a trail flat yesterday. Fucking stock tires are done for, ordered me a set of KO2's. Funny that 265/70r16s are actually more expensive than 265/75r16s.

Nice. I ordered a Century Ultra Sport from Bob Top in Hillsboro on Saturday. With pet screens and the key fob locking door it came out to $1,910. But I couldn't wait any longer cause I need to be able to put the dogs in the back.

My canopy was free! The special load-bearing carpet lining runs about $1,500, but they threw in the whole canopy for nothing :)

Possibly moving into yalls area (Tacoma, WA or possibly Portland)this time next year. Wife will be doing clincials and I will need a job. Have a few questions.

What is the job market like?

I have a degree in Occupational Safety.
Experience in refineries, fab shops, counter sales, parts, shipping/receiving, heavy equipment.

House vs apartment, looking to rent. Nothing big. Just me, the wife n dog.

    Pricing?
    Availability?

    Thanks in advance.

If your looking at working in Tacoma I would recommend living in Olympia/Lacey area. I was never a big fan of the Tacoma area.

I will tell you that the housing market in the Puget Sound area for both rentals and buying has been very tight. Don't wait till you move there to try and secure a lease.
