Knee jerk reaction is no way, why the hell would they ever do that.

After reading to the article it sounds like an interesting idea and one that if it helped keep cars closer through cornering and increased overtaking may be worth investigating.

After further thought (like 30 more seconds) I'm wondering why they keep coming up with these radical ideas for the cars when all but the top teams are already struggling financially and everyone knows that more complex and expensive is exactly the opposite of what the sport needs. All future changes need to focus on increasing competition first and foremost, which is at least partly going to have to come from simplifying the cars to reduce cost.

 

That, and knowing when to read a penalty and what’s not a penalty!

 

The front axle would be a seperate KERS motor like in WEC , not that complicated and likely less expensive than the MGU-H tech and the reason all but the top teams struggle financially is the unequsl distribution of assets

 

More hp (like 400 more), less downforce (1/2 what they have now) and all wheel drive would be fine.

Less about "dirty air" and more about drivers skill and trying to keep traction. Same as about without AWD I'd be ok with also.

IMO they went to the wider tires and downfield package because they were getting their ass beat in lap times by Endurance cars. My .02
