    That's crazy cheap. I got $75 bucks in stainless tubing alone.

    Nicely done- I can see a huge benefit in doing this- the catalytic converter is the worse source of fire starting by parked vehicles over shrubs and grass, but I wonder how hot that stock pipe gets at the cross under crimp - especially if you are driving it hard up a long grade or something and pull off over a bush or tall grass? I've seen a landcruiser start 2 fires the same day this way- idiot driver didn't get it until the 2nd flare up.

    Can I ask a question to KennedyUSMC----how is the rerouted exhaust pipe attached at the outlet of the drivers side converter. Is it just welded? Do you have a picture that would detail this part of your conversion? Did they have to take the converter off while putting our rerouted exhaust together? I'm planning on doing exactly what you did and am trying to get it all figured out.

    I'd be leery about using heat wrap tape unless you don't mind changing that section out every once in a while.

    The pipe. Heat wrap ruins mild steel IIRC. Just google heat wrap header damage. From what I understand ceramic coated is a safer option.

    I have the URD y-pipe and wanted to put some heat wrap on a section of the pipe that goes right under the transmission. A few weeks ago I ordered some heat wrap from Amazon but returned it right after receiving it. The link below will explain why. Therefore, I found a heat shield that covers only the top half of the pipe and only comes in contact with the pipe where the 3 clamps holding it together are. The second picture with the heat shield on is rather poor but you can get the idea. Hope this helps.

    Does the reroute void the powertrain warranty? Can't seem to find an accurate answer in this thread.

    I got a quote today for $140 which seems reasonable.
