That install looks way over my head. If I’m going to do it myself I think it needs to be engine bay mounted. Plus I want accessability to it. I’ve seen some home made brackets that were a better design than the slee one.

 

Better in what way?

 

There was one that mounted to the right side of the engine bay and it was one piece. The guy made a template and cut it himself No need to remove anything and re mount. I haven't read up a ton on it yet but that seems to be the direction I want to go.

 

The Air pump on the '13 is in the way where I originally wanted it, this kit was a space saver for me. The kit mounts the compressor AND manifold, relocates the power steering resi, comes powder coated and with a steel braided hose for the manifold.

It uses space that otherwise probably wouldn't be use for much more... I still have the passenger side firewall free with nice realstate for other projects...

For my needs the slee kit was just right

 

There's a GB going on for a bed cubby compressor mount.

I saw it. Just not feeling it.

 

I was planning to go that route anyway, so it saves me allot of bending.

I'm trying to get shit out from under my hood, not add more.

 

So better because it's one piece and because easier install? I can see install being "easier" but not sure about better design

 

Building your own is always "cool" and it's one piece so it should be easy... but cutting, bending, grinding, painting takes alot looooonger than what it takes to install the Slee kit....
I was sold on the Slee because of the spot it uses more than anything. It frees the back of the passenger side in the engine bay (which was a spot I originally wanted to use) for other stuff like dual batt, storage, winch controll etc

 

This^ the slee uses space that is literally unuseable....

 

Like I said I haven’t decided yet, but what may be better for me doesn’t necessarily have to be better for you.
