also, should I use stone dust or concrete sand to use as my bedding material? I'm using irregular bluestone flagstone as my patio material. Most likely filling the joints with polymeric sand.

Tile guys started at the job today . He's using a new to me product that he has switched to instead of Schluter Kerdiboard .

    Laticrete Hydro-Ban Board

Its way stiffer in the same thickness as the Kerdiboard and requires no barbed washers to fix it . He still prefers the Kerdiband for seams but the screws are getting brush applied waterproofing

Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
Is that a special tape for the seams?

That looks awesome...Id like to build something like that in the back yard where we live now. Is that something you have plans/instructions for or what?

We're knocking out our to do list and getting close to being done this house

World's most expensive cat door completed

And the glaizers came today and installed the eave skylight system

Also got the Schluter pan and a laminated concrete board sill down so we can start the ensuite shower install

Yeah, learned my lesson for sure. Looks great now after thinning it out but it didn’t stop being sticky if heavy stuff is on it til a few days ago. Come spring I’ll redo it, courtesy of Behr. Great customer service. They’re paying for everything I need to redo it proper even though it was my bonehead fault.

The skunks will appreciate that well-crafted cat door.

Eave skylight is awesome. You can stargaze when it's raining. Oh, wait.

I installed a cat door with a magnetic latch and only our cat with the magnet could walk through it. Seemed to work ok...
