Does anyone know of a vendor that makes a steel/aluminum version of the Chevy/GMC "step" bumper?

IMO its about the only thing they did right on that truck. Those ZR2's look kinda cool, though.

I agree the corner step is a nice idea...

It's not too late to retool Toyota! You can pull this off for MY2018!

I hope this doesn't sound condescending, but is it difficult to just step on the top of the bumper? That also looks like it could break off fairly easy.

I thought the same thing when I first saw the step, but it is actually reinforced with a pretty heavy piece of steel underneath the plastic

Would not work for those with BSM. Plate bumper makers have had some dificulty making BSM compatible bumpers. Turns out corners can not be metal for the BSM to work.

For those without BSM.... it would work fine. On that note, a new plate bumper is much more costly than the frame mounted bed step that drops down.

Definitely true, but I've been considering a plate bumper and I was just wondering if there was one on the market.

I've been thinking the same thing. My father's Silverado has these and makes the bed more accessible with the tailgate down. Surprised some smart person here hasn't tried to make one or retool one from a different manufacturer.

I'm hoping some vendor will stumble across this. I want one. I wish I could weld.

I swear I’ve seen a rear bumper for 2016+ Tacoma’s with corner steps. Just don’t know where

Thanks! Not really my cup of tea, though unfortunately. I don't want to hunt down lights and I think the design is a little convoluted, but I really appreciate you hunting it down. This is a good starting point!

You think the step is the worst part of the new 1500 and twins?
