That'd raise the center of gravity, though. Make her too unstable (on and off the bike). Lead boots would keep it down low.

I go through an awful lot of back shocks. Noticed oil on the garage floor and looked and the passenger side shock is covered in it. My guess is the new springs are higher because they haven't settled like the old ones and it overextends them.

My strategy will either be to ignore it until it starts making noise or handling funny, then I'll replace it figuring the springs will have settled again.

...or ignore it until I get a new truck, then I don't have to worry about it

My contract says I can carry one week of vacation over, but just about everyone else with an individual contract says two. I've discovered that the HR lady usually doesn't even think about it and moves two. Except one year she didn't and I lost some. Kind of a gamble, I guess.

I can only carry over two weeks now. Previously we were able to carry over more...somewhere on the order of 4-5 IIRC.

When they changed the policy they cashed us out and any vacation in excess of 80 hours was to be paid out. At the time I had something like 210 hours of vacation sitting in my bank and I found out in October. I didn't take another day off that year. It was fantastic.

I think this set only lasted me 10,000 miles. Bright side is the top stud won't have had an opportunity to rust yet so they'll be easy to change.

I wish I could just cash out the vacation days I don't use, but they won't let us do that. Sick time accrues without limit for us, so I think I have 9 weeks of that right now.

Yeah, at the time we had sick, PTO and vacation. I typically only used the PTO and maybe a sick day here and there. They converted us to all PTO so it becomes use or lose. It's nice though because then I don't feel guilty when I take weeks off. I timed July 4th to have like 11 days off in a row and ended up taking 4 or 5 days somehow. We are on a 9/80 work schedule so I get every other Friday off and if you play it right it can work quite well.

We have sick, family sick, personal, and vacation. There are people who abuse it and will use family sick days like they are vacation days. It'd probably be simpler to have one big bank of it.

There's a defense contractor around here who does the 9/80 thing. Most of them show up at about 10 and work until 7. Apparently they choose to do that and they could come in earlier or later if they wanted to. I'd be there at 5:30 or 6 and be done by 2:30 or 3. 10-7 makes the rest of your day kind of useless.

Yes, yes it does. I am there about 6:45 and leave at 4:45 or so. Technically I'm giving the company an extra 15 minutes, but then if I sneak out early of a day it's no biggie, or if I decide to run down the street for a snack if I'm having a rough afternoon, etc, etc. I work in a small laboratory subset of a large company and it works well for me.

I think I'm expected to be 7:30 - 4:00, but it's typically 6:30 - 3:30 or so and lunch is either eating something I brought while I work or running out to get a sandwich for 15 minutes then working while I eat that.

I definitely put in extra time, but it makes taking off early or running an errand in the middle of the day a non-issue. Not that they'd ever know anyway since I'm salaried and don't punch a clock.
