Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
Keep it, first gen is the best gen hands down! Especially with all the little issues third gens appear to be plagued with, might wanna have it around for backup. Nothing beats the simplicity and reliability of the old Toyota trucks.

I had an 03 similar to yours just with the black bumpers and the TRD OR package. Bought it brand new and racked up close to 180,000 miles on it traveling all over the country. Never gave me a problem, I kept maintenance up on it and the biggest problem I had with it was having to replace an O2 sensor, which was simple.

I ended up selling it four years ago to the Toyota Dealership in Olympia WA. At the time my Dad had died and left me his 07 Tacoma (which I sold later ). I was in the process of moving Cross country again and didn't want to deal with moving two Tacomas and a Sequioa, so I sold the 1st Gen for cash that I didn't really need.

To make a long story I've regretted that decision everyday since, big mistake. I now have a 2012 and it's nice but I still wish I had my 1 Gen in addition to my 2012. My story isn't unique, alot of guys have regretted selling thier 1st Gens after the fact. At the time I too thought I was good with my decision to sell. Good luck with whatever you decide.

    Just my two cents.

I possible would regret it, but there isn’t any reason for me to keep a 2nd truck that will just sit and not be used. I’d rather someone use it than just sit there

Not what I’ve experienced with my ‘17, bought it and drove it home and was impressed with the acceleration it has compared to my ‘01.

It’s my 3rd, and each one was great. Just think it’s funny how everyone loves their Tacoma’s until 3rd Gen is mentioned. In 10 years it will be the same story. 6th gens aren’t as good as 3rd lol

Yea there are a lot on the road, just have to mod it so it’s not like everyone else’s. That’s the fun part. Haven’t posted it for sale on here, Yet, but have it on FB marketplace and keep getting lowball offers. Have turned down 10k 3 times already.

If you keep your first gen, that third gen might be the last truck you’ll ever have to buy, thus saving you more than $12,900 over time.

Keep it!! It’s paid for, well kept, and never hurts to have an extra set of wheels. If something were to happen to your new ride, at least you would still have a backup truck to drive. You spent time and money taking care of it, sitting won’t hurt it. Just drive it every so often to remind yourself how much fun those smaller trucks are to drive!!

glad for you as long as the all those bells a whistles don't become a nitemare later on for you. Make sure
you get the extended warranty! Because of the electric stuff.
My brothers newer Tacoma had an immobilizer issue and Toyota would not back
it. Toyota had the truck for two months, Toyota was not able to fix it, was sent to two different dealers, had a hot shot Toyota man flew in to fix it and no luck, spent 3500 (which was not refunded) replacing CPU, reprogramming it,
Repalacing sensors, wires, harnesses, keys, transmitters etc.
dam truck would start one day and the next day would not start, filled up with gas and then would not start.
Truck had 60,000 miles, so he had to trade it in and some sucker has it now.
    Good luck to you!
Yup someone got a heck of a deal on his used truck at 60,000 miles.
He's probably cursing Toyota right now Stuck at a gas station with a full tank of gas
