    Are there any roof rack systems besides stock which don't have a component which reaches into the door jamb areas?

    I would assume this is most dependent on the "foot" system of the roof rack.

    Yes!

    I did a write up after I got my Rhino Rack installed. One of the main selling points to me was the fact that it didn't grab into the door jam like the Yakima and Thule setups do.

    Let me know if you have any questions on it.

    I just installed my front runner. Not sure how they stack up against other for low profile, but I can make some measurements once I up sober.

    I need to up sober as wellll.
    I guess a good gauge is how high above the shark fin it sits. Then it can be a accurate comparison to others

    I'm not sure on the prinsu but I believe the front runner load bars are completly above the shark fin.
    The dissent rack sets only 1/4"-1/2" above the shark fin depending on where it is ajusted to. Making it as low profile as possible. Any lower and there would be contact on the hump in the center of the cab.
    This rack also does not attach to the door jam, it bolts to the factory roof rack mouting holes.

    Thanks! I know what you're saying about the hump in the middle of the roof. That is the limiting factor of how low it can sit. I'm building one right now and it's about even with the shark fin...don't think I'd want to go Lower than that

    @mesojdm
    Let me know if you still want to check out the rack sometime, I'm only about 45 min from you.
    The 2nd gen in the pics above was just coming out to look at the racks and see if it would fit the second gen, he was still undecided between this, frontrunner or prinsu. For what it's worth he left with a dissent rack on his truck ;)
