were the lights on? Sounds like loose connections to me, same thing has been happening to me lately, my cheap tractor supply connector sucks.

It's happened before, and those times it was a loose connection. Since then I've cleaned and attached battery tie down properly.
    I'll check again.

Now I keep hearing bad things about spacers like affecting fuel economy and wearing the spindles or something prematurely. Is that true?

what are you thinking of doing for the shock relocation? Been doing some research on that myself and been thinking of doing a || orientation for more stability on the road with dakars and b110s if I can fit them

The only thing I could imagine spacers would wear out prematurely is wheel bearings but I mean, if that was the case then wheels with a short backspacing would do the same thing. I didnt see any affect on fuel economy with my 1.25"

I've had 1.5" spacers on mine for years. Took the front ones off for long travel. Still rocking the rears.

Is it possible to prematurely wear the bearings? Yeah. Sure.

But from my experience the bearings can fail anywhere from 150k-250k with no real warning..

    So...:notsure:

You want to run the wheels or not I guess is the question

Can you run front wheel spacers and no rear wheel spacers? Kind of curious about that

Yes you can. Looks a little weird but do able. I did it for a few months rocking 2nd Gen wheels while I waited for my ray10s

    Stuff. Also things.
    Thanks, Mike!

I’m pretty close to pulling the trigger on a Hobart 210, in large part because of all of the rear frame stuff. I’m to the point now where the lack of fab skills and tools is a hindrance that I can’t tolerate. I’ll do a bunch of practicing on scrap first, but my intent is to design, fab and install my own parts for the relocation and the frame boxing. I already have the dual battery system designed, I just need to buy a few more parts and get it all installed. Rear shocks are first, though.
After seeing @Squeaky Penguin’s rear setup in action, my setup will be very similar.

Shooting for vertical orientation looking from the back and only slight layback from vertical looking from the side. My truck is a jack of all trades, so I want to balance stability with articulation and still be able to get the most out of valving optimization.

I’ll be breaking down my Expos and cycling the main leaf (and maybe doing a bit of rearching to the driver side pack) to appropriately locate the shock mounts and bumps and then I’ll start designing a simple crossmember and resi mounts, as well as bump mounts for after the U-bolt flip. The frame boxing will likely happen during the relocation or just after, with frame plates going on last after everything is in its new home. Fingers crossed...

I love mine so far. They handle camping loads really well. Ride is a bit harsh unloaded, obviously. And they’re quiet too.

I'm thinking that may be true in extreme cases where a 2" spacer is added to a properly fitted wheel. I have 2nd gen steel wheels with 285-75s. Couldn't come close to mounting them. Slapped on some 1.25" spacers and they got me to about 0 offset. Still had some pretty significant frame rub.

I moved up to 1.5" and that took care of the frame rub for the most part. I still get a little at full lock turning left I think, but I can live with it. That puts me at about -6 offset.
