Wanted to purchased a used Tacoma but too expensive. Any thoughts on a new 2017 or wait until 2018s come out? Any word on when the 2018s will be released?

I would go with a 2017, should be discounted before the 18s show up

They're making a strong offer on the 17- want to get them out before the 18. Looking at the SR5-had a Sport but don't know if Sport or Off Road are worth the extra money.

I just traded for a 2017 yesterday. The 2018 will have Toyota Safety Sense and some changes to the premium and tech packages. I didn’t care about the TSS stuff and didn’t want to have to get leather to get the JBL.

Depends on whether you want the extra safety stuff. If not, some dealers are trying to move some of those 2017s. Might be able to get a better deal on a 17, but can’t really go wrong either way.

Anyone seen how much the price will increase for 2018? I would imagine all the safety sense stuff will be expensive.

I bought a 2017 DCLB SR5 yesterday. The salesman said the 2018's would be arriving in December. He cked his inventory and had two that were in the process of being built. No price was available on those two yet but he did mention they would run more than the 2017. The addition of the TSS at a higher price did not appeal to me so I went with the 2017. I think I got a good deal. I paid $30, 800 for my 2017 long bed with tow package, mud flaps, bed lights, running boards, window tint, and premium carpet mats. I'm in Texas.

There’s a post somewhere that indicated the cost increase is right around $900.

I bought a new ‘17 SR5 this week with some impressive discounts.

A couple days later my wife bought a new ‘18 RAV-4 Limited that has all the New safety whizbang gear.

    I’m glad I jumped on the ‘17.

I’m absolutely stoked about my new truck.

Gotta ease off on buying stuff for it.....every day another $100-$300 goes into it.

A back step for when I get older, Carhartt seatcovers, 4Runner wheels, Topper, and "tats all folks"! --for now!!
Some of those "nanny-gear" things can dam well save your life. We own a 15 Subaru with this "nanny gear" as you call it -- my wife can speak from first hand experience. I would have waited -- but it was high time for me to end my relationship with my 02 F150. It would have needed high dollar brake work.
That's all I'll say about it!

Going 18, as 2017 model is all ready almost a year old. Am getting an 18 at invoice so feel good enough about price to feel better not buying a year old new car.

2017 would need to be heavily discounted for me to have looked at with it being so late in the yr. Plus I'm getting a pro and decided to go with midnight black.

I've never liked buying last yrs model year when the newer model year was all ready out. Not a sound investment to me. But... everyone should do what they are comfortable with. This is just why I did what I did.
